I have been paying the $5 per month penalty to DishNetwork since I first got their service because I had no phone line near my DVR. But when we added a second TV and DVR, I balked at paying $10 a month just because they think I need one-button access to pay per view. So I bought a Phonex base and two extension units so I could hook up the DVR's to the phone line. As described, the installation is quick and easy. The system works fine, even the caller ID. When I am watching TV and the phone rings, a window pops up on the screen telling me who is calling. This allows me to decide if I want to answer the phone without having to hunt for my glasses and pick up the phone.Customer Review: Works as Expected...

We are a systems integration company and service an apartment complex that has a security system in every unit, but the installing company forgot to run the telephone line to many of them, and I have always had to tell the customer I could not monitor them. I found the Easy Jack 2 on the web and called the manufacture to see if I could use it on a security system, they were not sure if it would work but asked me to try it. We did and they work just as expected, we did not even have to slow down the communications with central station, it works with full data transmission. Purchased these wireless phone jacks to connect my satellite system to the provider (DishNetwork) to avoid two things. I no longer have to run 25' phone cords across the house for pay-per-view and I save the $10/month charge for not having my two receivers in constant connection to Dish. It works great and the payback will start showing up on my satellite bill this month! Easy to install/use...read all of the directions, they're short but necessary, especially to set up the extension unit. I really disliked that charge every month and now I don't have to pay it!Customer Review: works great if you read manual

I love this product once I got it to work. The main issue was that the base unit could not be plugged into a surge protector, power strip, or anything else - just plugged directly into the wall outlet. Once it is set up, you can move it behind the power strip and it will work fine.
The skimpy documentation talks about seeing the Troubleshooting Guide, but none exists. If you have this problem, you can read the user's manual at http://www.phonex.com/pdf/810-0030_211_man.pdf. It worked great once I figured out what to do. Great product.

I needed to install a Life Alert system for my ageing Mother with health issues who lives alone. Unfortunately where there were phone jacks there wasn't power and where there was power no phone jacks and I needed both. I installed the Easy Jack 2 base in her bedroom and the Alarm unit in the family room with the remote Easy Jack 2. It worked perfectly first try out of the box and saved me an expensive rewireing project to make the alarm work. I couldn't be happier with the product.
