Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of magicJack Phone Device - 2 packCustomer Review: Works, and costs next to nothing. Great for travelers. Summary: 4 Stars
I liked this product. It worked for me as advertized on the MagicJack website. I dont seem to have the problem others have noted here. However, sometimes when receiving calls, I can hear an echo of my own voice. I wont say this business grade - I would not want to have a phone interview for a nice job on this gadget, but if you have friends and family in US & Canada and want to just gab very frequently, this is not bad. For me, I have to travel internationally frequently, it works absolutely fine from hotel rooms and wifi/wired connections. Yes, its nice to have a US phone number wherever you go. We gave one to a cousin overseas and its nice to have ~free conversations instead of international calling charges.
Customer Review: Have no problems so far. Summary: 4 Stars
Its funny how alot of reviews that are bad been posted, well i cannot speak for someone's experience, but mine so far have been good so far.
Once u have a great internet connection and good specs on your computer, u will have little or no problems with your calls.
The only draw back is having your computer on all the while, which kinda a sucks with the light bill.
So far i have been saving alot with this device.
Customer Review: magicJack is a good Bet for landline users looking to switch Summary: 3 Stars
I've own this product for awhile now. Yes it does all what is listed on the company website. The incoming voice quality is good and almost near landline voice quality. Outgoing voice quality is adequate. Several people say the sound is almost like I'm calling from overseas but they can hear me Ok.
Cons:
[Audio Conferencing]
When dialing into audio conferencing services thia is where the system doesn't recognize passcodes to dial-in.
[Delay]
Short delay in calls both incoming and outgoing.
[Fax]
No support as of yet for Faxing. I was able to receive a fax based on the information magicjack list on there website. No success in sending a fax.
[Voicemail]
Tad bit sluggish.
Pros:
- Cost
- Easy setup
- Features
Customer Review: 2nd jack not so hot, resource hog Summary: 2 Stars
I installed and registered the first jack and it works well. Callers say the line is clear and I hear them clearly. While plugged in and idle, it is a huge resource hog, almost as much as explorer.exe.
I plugged the second jack into another computer for a second phone line. I signed in and the jack was assigned another magicjack name but given an arbitrary free magic talk ten digit number with an asterisk front and back. I can call out but when I call the caller id number listed I am prompted to enter my magic talk number. I live chatted with support and was told to give the magic talk exchange number and my magic talk number as my phone number. 22 digits! I'm sure I'll remember that. Or I can buy a regular 10 digit number for $10 plus tax.
The second line was for occasional use anyway and I'll just use my cell phone rather than plug in the magic and wait for it to load up. I wouldn't leave it on all day anyway on my puny laptop.
If you need two lines, I would recommend buying two magicjacks and registering with different e-mail addresses.
Customer Review: MagicJack Summary: 2 Stars
I bought a new cordless phone, to use with my Magic Jack. I recently purchased. Easy to set up. When I used my Magic Jack The audio was not clear when speaking, The audio would break up, and could not always make a connection.
