The functions of this product are good, but there are two downfalls. One is that the light, even in dim mode is very bright. We have to turn it upside down to block the light so it doesn't keep us awake. Its much brighter than any nightlight. The other, more irritating problem is that when using it as an alarm clock it has an automatic volume of 10 which cannot be changed. The volume is so loud that it can be heard outside of a room with a door closed! It scares you awake in the morning! This was a bad purchase.Customer Review: Terrible display, unreliable charging

The display on this alarm clock dock is simultaneously blinding and unreadable. My wife has perfect vision and she has to ask me what time it is when she is 6 feet away.
This device does not charge iPods reliably - about half the time it will simply not charge despite a working audio dock connection.
