I've only just gotten this dock and have only tried it out a few times so far but I'm immensely pleased. Here are some things you should know:
* It plays and charges the ipod nano 4g *
The radio works really well
Sound quality is decent, especially for the price
Very easy to use and set up
Handy snooze button
Front light dims to nearly nothing for you light sensitive people and can be turned off all together
Remote is kind of bad quality if that's important to you (but does work OK)
2 alarms
Can preset radio stations

Edit: The remote ended up breaking within a month, and as soon as I moved the dock to the other side of my room I could not get a radio signal for the life of me, also thought the front light can be adjusted the top lights glow at a steady and bright orange which can be rather annoying.

I just received this product a few days ago and I am so impressed with it. The sound is sound is exactly like listening to your Ipod but without the uncomfortable earbuds. The volume gets pretty loud and the speakers don't crackle or anything. It sounds great!
The sleep feature is great, I put it on the first night and set it for 15 min and volume of my choice and at 15 minutes it turned right off.
The AM/FM radio is also a very nice touch. This product comes with a cord antenna to help get better stations but I didn't have to take the antenna out of the clear package because it brought in my favorite stations without even using the antenna. I don't listen to AM radio but their is an AM antenna too.
This product is absolutely perfect and was exactly what I was looking for!

I bought my iH8 at Bed, Bath, and Beyond at a heavily discounted price because it was missing the AM antenna. I called iHome Customer Service, told them the story, and within hours they shipped an antenna to my house free of charge. I wish other companies had this high degree of efficiency in dealing with customers. The serice man in charge was Pat Czudyk.
The product itself works fine. Naturally, the speakers are not designed
to compete with Bose. Using the line in function, you can play your CD players or other stereo equipment with the unit. Just remove the iPod when you operate the line in function.
I was so impressed by iHome's customer service that I have decided an iH9 for my wife. This product is a lot more than a glorified alarm clock. I am very pleased with it.

I just received this yesterday for my birthday. It has a great sound and I love how it charges my ipod. The radio comes in perfectly, and there are many of light settings. In daytime I like to keep my light very bright so there are no glares to see, but at nighttime I like to turn it down lower so the light isn't right in my eyes when I'm trying to sleep. The remote control can be a little annoying at times, because you have to point directly to your system and you can't go to the menu options and everything from it. I'm not complaining though, because ihome probably has the best systems out there.If you buy this system, you will not be dissapiointed.It also has a great size...it isn't small, but it's not big either. It's perfect if you don't have a huge space.Customer Review: I love it!!

After much thought and reading everyone else's reviews, I took it upon myself to indulge in this electronic device. Not only does it allow ipod users to dock their mp3 player to play music, it also serves as an alarm clock as well. As soon as I opened it, I put it on the vacant spot of my nightstand; it looks so good there!! To be so small it really packs in the punch! The sound is phenomenal, and the size couldn't be more perfect. I highly recommend this item to music lovers who want to experience quality sound without all the bulk. Also, the price being just under one hundred dollars does not hurt either!
