Let's face facts: when it comes to certain purchases, you're buying it for more than the overall value.
You would ultimately save more money just buying rechargable AA batteries and a standard battery charger. Going the Nyko route, though, offers the convenience of not having to swap out batteries, and the luxury of ALWAYS having a fully charged controller.
While I looked into getting this because I needed a rechargeable battery option for my Wiimotes, I ultimately got it because it straight up looks cool. The design of the base station and the replacement battery covers blends in perfectly with the Wii.
Highly recommended.

This charger does exactly what it promises to do. It charges one remote up (while you have the Wii system on), and then that remote does not require batteries for many hours of use. I had no problems getting it to work properly. Just make sure the light on the charger is lit, and when the light is green it is fully charged. This is a nice product. A blue light tells you when it's charging. When the same light starts flashing, it mean it's completely charged. The downside is that it that you connect it to your system and it only charges when the wii is on stand-by. I don't like to have it like that because the wii gets warmer and I'm afraid that it will overheat when I'm playing. But it's still a good product and it's cheap. Also, when you press the Home button on your wiimote, it tells you how much energy the rechargeable battery has, that makes it different from other charges that don't tell you that.
