Unit works as advertised. I ended up buying 3 units. Ran into one problem that was takened care of by brookstone. Units were gifts that ended up in different locations.One unit would not work.Tried it in a different location worked Ok. (Over hundred miles between locations.) Unit was OK. Found out the company that provides the signal was changing some towers from analog to digital.Bookstone said they would exchange unit at their store for a digital unit at no cost.They did require a copy of the reciept.Customer Review: Stopped updating

This was great while it worked! We had it for about a year, and all of a sudden it stopped getting updates. Looking at reviews here, I fear it may never get an update again. Update: Dec. 4 2009 It's ALIVE!! It started working again this week! I called ambient, and confirmed there were plenty of transmitters in my area. They said they'd send someone over; That was 2 weeks ago. Now, all of a sudden it's updating. This weather station is more accurate than the Weather Channel as it updates every 15 minutes. You can set to one of five nearby towns/cities. It has a magnetic back, so it fits perfectly on the refrigerator.Customer Review: Couldn't live without it!

OK, 'iPod of weather' is over-doing it, but I love this gadget and recommend it whole-heartedly. I own one, and my wife and I find it so useful we've gifted to family. Like the iPod, it makes one facet of life better in a simple, direct, elegant way: I glance at it 2-3 times daily, and know in a glance what to expect weather-wise, without wires, monthly fees or the need to turn on TV/PC.
How accurate is it? I would say reasonably and usefully accurate. Perfect if you want to know what clothes to lay out for tomorrow, or you're wondering which day in the upcoming weekend looks best for... (skiing, the beach, etc.). It aggregates a forecast for a city, so actual results may vary for your home by a degree or two, especially if you live in an area with multiple micro-climates.
Who is it NOT for? People whose lives depend upon weather forecasts, or who fetishize weather (glued to the Weather Channel due to lack of a social life) probably see this as too simple an offering (much as audiophiles see iPods as an assault on musical fidelity). Also, if you do not live in or near a major metro area, you might not have coverage. But everyone I know has reported similar, great results.
