Not wanting to shell out over $35.00 for a Grado cable, I had gone thru a few el cheapos trying to save some bucks and still get good sound. The Sony cable was awful, about as thick as two hairs, although it worked. I knew I was missing some major audio fidelity and figured I would give THIS one a try. It is a prefab jack affair, but otherwise is pretty darn good. Nice thick insulated cable. Jacks are decent quality, definitely not the worst out there. Sound quality is ALMOST as good as just using the cable on my Sennheiser HD 650's. Trying the phones without the cable, and then with, I MAYBE could hear a slight drop in overall loudness and perhaps a slight narrowing of the sound stage. And you know what, it may just all be in my imagination.
This is nit picking of course, most folks would find this a good solid buy and it IS. Honestly, most head-phone cables aren't all that great either, hence the large selection of after market cables for them. Unless you are the pickiest of audiophiles, this cable will do just fine. It is well made, cheap and functional. Your Cable Store was my vendor and they were VERY quick to ship.
