I had bought a couple of cheap Optical cables before I bought the Xtreme. When I tried the cheap cable it would not work unless I backed it out some from the socket on my Cox box. I ordered the XtremeHD2M and it worked out perfect. XtremeHD2M has all my business now. (not that they will get rich off me, after all how many optical cables doe a person buy in a lifetime?)
