Absolutely necessary if you edit images digitally and one of the cheapest ways to do it. Suggested by Scott Kelby who has some of the best photoshop books around. I've had the best experiences with Amazon in the past but this time the box was very beat up so either the shipping was too rough or it was used. On the bright side, Amazon made it extremely easy to return- giving like a month for return and all you have to do is print a ups return form that amazon paid for. Not the best experience but Amazon made it easy enough and you won't lose a cent going through them.Customer Review: So glad I bought this!

I am not very gadget saavy, but this was so easy to use that even I could do it.
You install the software, then set the calibration device on your monitor and it does EVERY thing for you.
The end results were great. I had set my calibrations manually and they were obviously too blue and the contrasts too heavy. This is MUCH better. I had no idea my menu bars were the color I am seeing now. Much more natural tones, hues and contrasts.
This will really help me in my photo-editing.

I used the X-Rite Eye-One monitor calibration system at work, so it only made sense to purchase it for my personal use. The results are always consistent. The program is easy to use and the display unit is pretty tough. The counterweight does have a tendency to work itself off the cord.
I have recommended this product to friends.

For calibrating a PC monitor, nothing could be easier. You just plug it in, stick it to the center of the monitor, and run the software. Presto! Perfect colors. This will even work with the freeware ColorHFCR software to calibrate an HDTV. Clearly the best bang for the buck.Customer Review: Eyeone calibration

Use product with care. If calibrating a television set with the service menu, take down all default settings in the service menu before using the eyeone display. Great product.
