My stainless steel kitchen does not hold magnets, so school cafeteria menus, grandchildren's artwork, etc. ends up being taped to the fridge, the walls, etc. We've always had a problem getting the tape unstuck without leaving bits and pieces of tape or telltale marks. Scotch Removable Poster Tape is a 2-sided sticky tape in a classic tape dispenser with a serrated tearing edge. The top-side of the tape has a removable protective covering. Tear off the tape in the desired length, and apply the sticky side to whatever needs to be mounted. Remove the protective covering and press the poster to the hard surface. It really works. We've successfully used it on stainless steel, painted walls, and maple cupboard doors. When removing the paper from the wall, the tape sticks to the wall rather than the paper, but picking one corner free then allows the remainder of the tape to be easily lifted without leaving a mark. There is a warning on the container that this tape may damage poster upon removal, but that hasn't yet been our experience. The only complaint I have about this product is that it does not tear easily on the serrated edge. The thickness of the tape + the protective covering complicates the tearing process. I need to hold the tape down tightly with my left thumb while tearing with my right hand. This is such a minor inconvenience for avoiding traditional tape or thumbtack scars on my walls, fridge and woodwork, that I haven't deducted any stars.Customer Review: A Tape that REALLY Works Well

Little is more aggravating than to stick something important on the fridge or elsewhere and have it fall off and out of the way. With this double sided removable mounting tape from Scotch (who else?) those days will be few if not at all. The holder claims a four inch strip will hold about a quarter of a pound. That's pretty good especially when most double sided tape drops its held item in a relatively short time. Old fashioned double sided tape was a bear to get to but this one the tape protective coating comes off with little resistance and is easy to mount. I would suggest that the 3/4 inch width aides in its holding ability compared to most 1/2 inch tapes. The container cautions the user to be careful when removing the tape from the document. Good caution. The tape is so sticky and works so well it can easily damage the back of the document and if one is just careless it can tear the document itself. My jury is still in deliberation about whether to mount the tape on the back of the document first or to mount the tape on the wall or glass first and then mount the document onto the tape. I am leaning to the latter but still neutral. Great product and one that will be added to my tape box for future uses.Customer Review: Let the kids have all the posters they want!

I can let the kids put up all the posters, schoolwork, art projects (lightweight ones), and every little tchachke their little hearts desire - the paint job in the bedrooms can take it!
I was so happy to see this tape, because my kid loves to put everything she can find on display in her room. Newspaper clippings, photos, and essays that got an "A" find their way onto the walls in her room, and old-style cellophane tape used to damage the paint on the walls. I like to paint, but not on a monthly basis!
This tape is a very rare thing these days -- a product that does exactly what it says it will do. It comes in a surprisingly generous roll - enough for one middle school girl with an average sized bedroom for one term, or for an adult for a year. I found the roll to be surprisingly economical: far less expensive than even one damaged wall from using regular tape.
Why five stars? I know that it's not a cure for the common cold or anything, but I have fixed far too many walls not to be overjoyed by this product.

3M made a great tape with the 109 Wallsaver Removable Mounting tape. We've found multiple uses for it. It securely holds up photos up to 8.5"x11" on textured walls, as well as wood paneling and stainless steel surfaces. On foam mounted pictures, it took a bit of extra rubbing for the tape to secure itself to the back of the foam. This even works on paper (for the pictures that the kids drew).
This is a great alternative to nails. No holes in the walls! Likewise, the tape is really removable. It works to secure pictures on all types of surfaces, and removes from the surfaces with no residue. We had some of the pictures that we needed to re-adjust after placing them on the walls too. The tape came off and re-stuck with no problem.
The roll is large enough that we were able to hang about 8-10 items of the size listed. However, we taped most of the sides of the pictures. If you were to use less tape, you'd be able to stretch out the use of it.
I have no complaints at all on this. Great job, 3M!

I tack up photos on the fridge, and mount sports posters for boys rooms. This product is awesome. In the past, removing older pictures and replacing with new ones I've struggled removing residue from wherever it was posted. I've had to take out the ol' gum-remover solvent that is not so good on walls, works on fridge ok, but it leaves everything all stinky. No more, not with this product. It's like a thicker double-backed tape, but not as thick as the foam-type tape. I liked that.
It is easy to use and to remove from the back-paper too if you remember to mount it on the photo or poster first, then lift off the backing paper and tack up. Another good use: If you are mailing a photo to a grandparent lets say, and want to insert it into a card, a little piece of this will keep it in place and not damage the photo or the card when it is removed... then Gramma can still remount it on her fridge if she wants. It does what it says! Yay! Thanks, Scotch/3M, your products rock. Happy customer here.
