I am sure I am not the only parent tired of seeing tack holes in the kids' walls from posters and whatnot, so I was happy to try this product. It works as promised...I tested it on some 4x6 photos (canon photo paper), a plain sheet of paper, a piece of cardstock, and a poster.
It held everything exactly in place and came off the wall without leaving a mark. When I removed the tape from the back of the paper and photos, it did not tear the paper or photos at all. It did tear the cardstock, but I think that was my fault for removing it too quickly (esp. since the paper was much thinner). The poster is still up on the wall.
I also moved the tape...took the piece off the back, put it back on it another spot, and put the papers back on the wall. Held perfectly.
For everything but the poster I used just one piece of tape; for the poster I did all four corners and spots in the middle. I had posters wall-to-wall and literally covering the ceiling as a teen myself and know they need some extra support. I will be thrilled if these hold up so my kids leave the tacks alone, and I should probably call my Dad and apologize for the 500+ tack holes he had to spackle after I moved out!!
The package does say that it can damage flat paint and wallpaper, and it can damage the back of a poster when removed, so be aware of that. I'd rather ruin a $5 poster than my walls, though. Since regular double-stick tape is permanent and this is removable, I am sold!
