This hard drive is the best i've ever had. I was very tired of using a power cable and always bring it with me to school to work on my large graphic files . Although the hard drive spins at 5200 RPM it doesn't seem to be that slow when transfering data.
I strongly recommend this hard drive for anyone that is looking for a light weight ultra sleek and portable hard drive that alot of space.
It's the same price as to paying for a 8 gig thumb drive. It's worth it...

Excellent drive, good value for the price. Not the fastest drive on the market (only 5400RPM) so it can't compete with the faster, but bulkier, 7200 speed drives. But then again, I bought it for back-up purposes so speed wasn't my main criteria. Western Digital reliability has always been rock solid in my experience, so that was my main selling point. The size is awesome, and the fact that it gets all its power through the USB port is icing on the cake. Perfect for traveling backup storage.Customer Review: Awesome and easy-to-use

It worked right out of the box. Mine came with the short cord, and it worked fine for me even though reviews say that the short cord doesn't work for some reason. The only thing you have to know beforehand that the instructions don't really make clear is that the WD Sync software that's included is not what you need to store your files (that's used for synchronizing between computers or something) -- just make a new folder in the new drive, and drag-and-drop them into that folder.Customer Review: Best external hard drive ever

This is by far the best external hard drive you could buy. I bought this early last year and it still works as good as the first day i got it even after it had been dropped down 3 flights of stairs, dropped in a puddle of water and even vodka was accidentally spilled on it all i had to do was plug it up so that it heats up enough to dry it out and it started back to work perfectly with no data being lost at all. I would highly recommend this hard drive for everyone.Customer Review: Great Deal

This external hard drive is amazing. I bought it for my girlfriend because her laptop keeps dying and needs reformatted every few months. She keeps anything that she doesn't want to lose on this hard drive.
It's very small, runs silently, and is practically bullet-proof. It frequently gets dropped down our ladder a good 8-feet and smashed against tables. It's nice to know that important data will not be lost no matter what you do to this thing.
