This hard drive is everything that I was hoping it'd be. It's very compact, very light, and incredibly easy to use. As other reviewers have noted, just plug this thing it and it's set to go. I use it just like I'd use a flash drive.
It only took me like 30 minutes to transfer all my files from my old Dell to my new Dell, and I have a ton of stuff on my hard drive. I wish that the USB cable it came with was a little bit longer (the cord is only about 10 inches long or so) but other than that, I'm completely satisfied and would highly recommend this drive.

I've had no problems using this with either of my Dell systems. My own experience was plug and play. I don't use it as storage for must-have items only because I'm not familiar with its life cycle. Using my desktop, I transfer programs from Tivo to this product. Then I have a library of programming which fits in my coat pocket and can be watched on my laptop. The case is a sleek black which isn't so sleek once handled, because it's impossible not to leave prints. That's a minor quibble, though. I intend to buy another, if my present one finishes out the new year.Customer Review: Great little drive.

If you are looking for portable, low profile, USB powered storage, then this is it.
I have seen some reviews that stated there was a problem with under powered USB ports. I did not have that issue.
Thing worked right out of the box with no power cable.
My wife uses it to store and transport all of her digital pictures. She can carry this instead of her laptop and then connect it to another computer to show her images. So far there has been no issue with any PC/Laptop being under powered.
Works a treat.

I have had TWO of these devices running almost constantly for 6 months, I've dropped them on numerous, carrying them around in my backpacks second pocket (which is filled with all sorts of junk), lent it to friends, and treated them a lot more harsh then I should and they are BOTH still working.
I have not had this good of luck with any external hard drive before.. nothing has ever been able to withstand the whirlwind of portable external drive destruction that is me except for these.
Great Product, and highly highly recommended!

Pros:
* Very reasonably-priced for the amount of storage and portability
* Sleek black color & slick styling (looks good next to your laptop)
* Comes in a variety of cool colors (red, green, etc.)
* Sold on WD's overall "stylish" designs for this and other products
Cons:
* Wish some of these portable drives would come standard with a small, protective case--just waiting for it to break the way I toss it into my laptop case with cord dangling. But, honestly, this is a VERY minor negative.
