I ordered this hard drive in 2009, and just installed it in my Lenovo 3000 N100 laptop. I used it as a external drive for music and photos for over 1 year. Well I got a nasty virus on my 80 gig oem hd. So it was time to just do it! This HD is fast, quiet, and I mean quiet, and formatted quickly with XP pro. I have had it in for 2 weeks now and no problems at all. I now have the available space that I always needed. No more jump drives or sd cards. Again I can't say enough how quiet and fast it is. Have to say that I haven't noticed any heat like the old 80 gig. Seems to run cool or cooler. Though, I don't have the means to check the temp other than by touch. I am very happy I got this one after researching the many choices here. It was a bit more than my first choice. I recommend spending the few more dollars to get this primo HD.Customer Review: Just right for the PS3!

The 80GB is too small for the PS3 if you plan on keeping demos and using it for music, photos, movies, etc. like I do. This takes 5 minutes to install in the PS3 (not including the time it takes to back up your ps3 data on an external drive and then restore the data- this takes a couple of hours). The actual swap out process though from this drive for the PS3 can't be any easier (just google it). The drive has proven to be fast, quiet and efficient, and there's no point in using a 7200 drive for the PS3. It doesn't make enough of a speed difference in that machine, so don't waste you money. How can you beat the price at 4.65GB/$1? As has been mentioned, you always get about 93% of the stated hard drive capacity in terms of real GBs with hard drives, so this comes to 465GB for this drive. Money well spent- I highly recommend it.Customer Review: A Great Deal!

This is the second one I have purchased not because the first one failed but I decided to use the first one as an external drive. After a failed attempt to restore a system image to the one I already had I decided for the price to just buy another and use the first for backup.
This drive runs extremely quiet in my Dell Inspiron 1545 to the point that in this model laptop being too quiet can be a downside. There is no hard drive indicator light (see my review of this computer elsewhere) therefore if an application stops responding for any length of time you can not tell if the drive is still being accessed. Of course this is not the fault of the drive,you want a drive this quiet and I am satisfied with the speed of access this drive delivers.
Highly recommended for the value and performance.

The installation only takes 5 minutes just pop the plastic holding the hard drive unscrew blue screw and slide hard drive cage out. Than remove 4 screws,now take new drive swap and put everything back and load ps3 it will ask to format and boom new fresh 500gb Hard drive.

-500gb whole lot of space for videos and Games
-Low Price(same as a brand new game)
-Good replacement warranty
Cons:
-PS3's screws are really easy to strip BE CAREFUL
-Backing up your old hard drive Takes a LONG time but worth
500 gb is enough space for all my videos and games add-ons. This is a good investment, you will be amazed how you could live with 60gb (in my case) and if you do back ups think of how many games you can backup on this. You will not regret this.

Thanks to this harddrive (and 54.95) my Macbook Pro went from 80 gigabytes of storage to half a terrabyte. The new drive is whisper quiet, runs cooler, is faster, and is roomy. I don't feel a need to upgrade this notebook for quite a while with this upgrade.
This harddrive is EXCELLENT, and the three-year-warranty is quite ample.
I think that this product is an absolute bargain at $54 and change. Free shipping too!
Go for it, I say. Just be sure to know what you're doing when you open up your computer - especially a Macbook. Look for a service manual on the internet, and label your screws and obtain the correct screwdrivers, and a "spudger."
Save your receipt in case of problems during the warranty period.
