Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Western Digital My Passport Essential 250 GB USB 2.0 Portable External Hard Drive (Midnight Black)Customer Review: Just what I wanted Summary: 5 Stars
I wanted a small portable storage device; one that I backup my files onto. It's powered by the USB, which I preferred, and has more than enough memory. The only downside is that it did not come with a backup software, as far as I could tell. However, I found a simple backup program online for free and it works great.
Customer Review: dropped while backing up and didn't miss a beat Summary: 5 Stars
I was doing a routine backup to one of these drives and clumsily caught the cable with my hand. The drive fell about 3 feet from the desk onto a hardwood floor. I was sure the drive would be ruined, but the backup continued to completion without error. I immediately ran a disk check which revealed no errors at all.
Customer Review: Does what a hard drive should Summary: 5 Stars
Picked this up for use as a backup disc for a MacBook using Apple's Time Machine. Runs flawlessly off bus power directly from the laptop. Running without a hitch for nearly 3 months at this point and warrantied for 3 years. Sleek, small, convenient. Have several WD externals and no complaints yet. Well worth it.
Customer Review: Great Item. Great Service Summary: 5 Stars
I'm making great use of this drive. The case makes it nearly indestructible. I know that it will take a while to fill this one up and that I will have it for a long time. It arrived a day before projected, the transaction went flawlessly and I am totally pleased. I know where to look when I need more. Thanks.
Customer Review: Recommended buy Summary: 5 Stars
I needed this external hard drive because it's portable and convenient plus my macbook's internal hard drive had too little space. It's very easy to use (just plug and it works!) and should have more than enough memory for everyday needs (pictures, videos, etc.). The pleasing aesthetic is also a plus!
