This is a great portable hard drive. I connected to my new Mac and the Mac promptly asked me if I wanted to use this drive as the back up drive for Time Machine. DONE!! No software to install, nothing. It backed up over 40 GB in a bit over an hour. No complaints here. And now, it does timely back ups automatically in seconds, and it's done without any clicks by me. What a deal!! I highly recommend it.Customer Review: Worth it

I purchased the Western Digital Passport when my Simple Tech failed. At the same time I purchased an Iomega . Both 250GB. I had to reformat the Iomega unit to work with my PC but that was no problem. I have only been using the two for about 2 months but so far the only complaint I have is the Iomega runs hot. This unit runs cool and is easy to transport because it is so small.

This passport is actually the size of a real passport and just the right size to keep in a safety deposit box for offsite computer backups. It's unbelievably easy to use right out of the box. Already had another usb2 drive for backups and when it goes kaput I'll definately buy another Passport to replace it as it is cumbersome in size and extra cords, etc.
The Passport is a real winner!!!

This is my second Western Digital external hard drive. Works just fine on my XP desktop as well as my Vista laptop. I just plug it in and copy files directly to the external hard drive using My Computer. Any installation that was required, it did it on its own without any help from me. So much easier and more affordable price per disk space than backing up to CD.Customer Review: Great buy for the money

This external HD was smaller and sleeker than I thought it would be and to be so small it has a lot of storage space. I bought if for my son to use with his Mac Apple computer and he loves it. He is able to store all his music and homework stuff for college on it and keep his computer free to run at optimum speed. Great buy for the money!
