Customer Review: Drive comes with "bloat ware".

I guess its Wastern Digital's as well Sandisk's business model to have the bloatware makers subsidize their products. And, it's in the bloatware makers interest to have unsuspecting users loading their wares onto multiple machines. It automatically loads as part of the install process. They don't ask you for an OK first. The good news is that it (the Western Digital stuff) can be removed via uninstall and by x-ing out of the unwanted Yahoo tool bar. Not so sure about being able to dump the sneaky stuff that comes with Sandisk USB sticks.
Since this isn't clearly explained on the packaging, it seems sort of sneaky to me that they'd try to spread their software this way -- the type of thing that inspires class action lawsuits.
And... you can also buy the exact same new in the box USB only- WD 750GB My Book for $89.00 (inclusing free shipping) via e-bay.
So far the My Book 750GB works great, but.... after I reformated it from FAT to NTFS (and you have to reformat it for Windows video storage) it lost about 50GB of storage capacity. The drive capacity was reduced to 699GB. Something else that isn't clearly explained on the packaging.
Hence, the low rating.
