After checking out a lot of hard drives I picked this one up because it was a good price for the amount of storage. Used an external HDD to back up the previous PS3 data, installed this hard drive, restored the PS3 backup to the new drive and away I went. Been a month or two now and have had NO problems.
Highly recommended for PS3 upgrading despite a minor hiccup in which the PS3 seems to only recognize 300GB as usable on the drive. My use is mostly music storage (way more then enough room at 300GB), if you are looking for mass video storage you may want to look at higher capacity drives.

I bought this for my 40gb Ps3 and to installation wasn't a breeze because the 4 screws connected to the hard drive was too tight and i almost rounded one screw but was able to take it off by applying pressure on the opposite side where the other screw was,and unscrewed the screw . Overall the switch was a success. To me i don't hear a difference with the 40gb toshiba hd and the 320gb hd but at least i got more memory and was worth the money paid. And parcel pool shipping from Tulsa OK to Kahului HI was 8-9 days when it was actually delivered by USPS . But it was worth it because it was free shipping.Customer Review: Exactly what I needed

This WD drive was exactly what I needed for my wife's MacBook. I had no problems with the installation, formatting, and re-loading of the data from TimeMachine. And, the price was great. Couldn't have asked for an easier upgrade after her original hard drive crashed (which, btw, was a Fujitsu).
The only surprise is that this was a bulk drive. After I received the drive, I noticed the word "bulk" in the title of the item. So, it should not have been a surprise there was no packaging or documentation. But, since I knew what I was doing, this would have all been thrown away anyway.

This works great in my PS3, fast access, lots of storage, my games run faster and better, and it was easy to install. Be careful though the people at the Sony factory like to screw in the original hard drive TOO tight thus completley stripping out the "phillips slots" when you try to remove the screws so that you can't get the hard drive out of the caddy, however if this happens they will send you a new caddy free if you ask for one, I got mine about 3 days after I asked for it (the screws are included even the blue one).
You will like this hard drive if you want to upgrade your PS3!

I bought this product after reading all the reviews on amazon. I always read the full reviews and then buy producti on amazon. I attached it, format it and Installed Vista. It is working fine and silently. One of the aspect of this HD I like is. I enabled AHCI mode on vista, Installed Intel Matrix storage manager. I got noticeble difference in performace. It increased by 20% or more. I like this change. Before that I had Fujitsu (Defause HD with Inspiron 1520). but there was no performence improvement in that HD with AHCI. I would strongly recommand this product.
