Customer Review: The BEST
Summary: 5 Stars

I used to use an old Graphire 4 x 5 for many years in middle and high school. Late in college, I decided to finally pony up the cash and buy the best - an Intuos!! And after using it ... I could never go back to a Graphire.

A Graphire is fine if you are only doing coloring work or photo retouching. If you do any digital painting AT ALL, you should get the Intuos. Why? With the Graphire, you can't really get precise lines easily - you can do so, but it is a slow process that will waste a LOT of your time. With the Graphire, you also get that annoying feeling of lines not being precise due to both the lack of sensitivity with the tablet and the small area you have to work with.

Enter the Intuos. First, the combined sensitivity with the tablet drivers create a remarkably fluid experience that feels like writing with a pencil far more than the Graphire ever could. You can actually INK with this thing and have it feel like a natural part of your workflow, unlike with the Graphire where you have to fight the technology to make it work. The Intuos just flows naturally with the way you work.

In all, grab an Intuos if you are at all serious about digital painting or texturing. But if you're serious, you already know this. ;)

Wacom Intuos3 6 x 8-Inch Pen Tablet
This is my first pen tablet. I wanted to get my son and I the best I could afford and this didn't disappoint. The fact that professionals use this very tablet and it's reputation in the graphics industry helped sell me on it. I have used it and I am very impressed. It takes a bit of getting used to because it is so sensitive. You can tweak it down a bit if you want but I left it default because I wanted it to be sensitive when I do get used to it.
The software included, Photoshop Elements and Corel Basic(or whatever) are pretty good pieces of software. The average guy can do anything he wants with this. I also tried it out in CS4 and it is superb. My son actually prefers Elements.
I spent a little time playing with the writing recognition. This took a few hours for me since my writing is so bad. But after you get all the kinks worked out you can go into Microsoft word and write by hand. This good for me since I can only peck when I type. My son types about 150 words a minute so he didn't need it. :)
All in all, this is a fine piece of technology. Couldn't be more satisfied.

Customer Review: Worth every penny
Summary: 5 Stars

I've been working with this tablet a few days now and it is a job saver. I had started doing a lot of Flash production and drawing with a mouse was time consuming and ruining my hand. This tablet (and some physical therapy) is saving my hand and making work much easier and more efficient. I can do things in photoshop so much more quickly and fluidly than with a mouse. Another reviewer mentioned the drivers - to go to the wacom website and download the newest version - word on that. I had a problem with my tablet (due to the driver version) - got a LIVE person on the phone, from Wacom, in literally 5 minutes. They had me up and running in another five minutes. So, I was also very impressed with the technical support. Another reviewer commented that they find the rocker buttons on the pen useless -I just started using those buttons today and now I hardly touch my mouse. So, to each his own on the pen buttons. Using the pen for almost every activity is just so much more natural. If you can afford it, and you do a lot of flash development, photo work or graphic design of any kind, this is your tool. I don't know how I lived without it.

Customer Review: Really REALLY good!
Summary: 5 Stars

A great price for a great product. I use this for anything Adobe-related and also for my 3D animation classes. It's very sensitive and accurate. It's mouse is also very accurate, and doesn't shake the pointer when you make tiny movements like a ball or wireless optic mouse would. The mouse is also wireless and takes no batteries! Works just like the Stylus. The stylus is great too, it has two buttons on the side and an eraser-like edge at the back that is actually used as an eraser in most supported software (like Adobe Photoshop). The Stylus also comes with a few exchangeable writing ends and an elegant cradle.

The tablet itself is great. Depending on how you work, the size is relatively sufficient. It has two sets of buttons on each side for righty and lefty people. Both sets of buttons could be mapped exactly the same, so each right-set button would do the same action as it's equal left-set button, OR you could remap every single button differently, which is great and helps you avoid using the keyboard for shortcuts.

Hope this helps. Don't miss out on this great deal, you won't regret it.

Customer Review: Probably the best purchase I've ever made
Summary: 5 Stars

I just came home from work to find that my Intuos 6x8 arrived in the mail today. After just a few hours of working with it, I'm still so happy about it, I could cry. This is a really wonderful piece of equipment.

First of all, it looks GOOD. It's sleek and sexy with a beautifully simplistic design that nevertheless includes a number of extremely useful shortcut buttons and scroll pads. Secondly, it's as natural as drawing on paper. In just a few seconds I was able to navigate as if I'd never used anything else and it's been a couple of years since I've used a tablet. The levels of pressure sensitivity are simply amazing and I have an incredible amount of control over every aspect of every line I draw. Thirdly, it's slim, light, and just slightly smaller than my notebook, which really eases my concerns about traveling with it.

I'm incredibly impressed and I really do think, as the title of my review states, that this is probably the best purchase I've ever made. I seriously doubt if I'll be going to bed tonight, since I'll be so busy exploring my new tablet.
