I got this drive 15 months ago, and have been using it primarily for twice-weekly automatic rdiff backups (which involve intensive reading and writing). Absolutely no problems that I know of yet. Rock solid and reliable.
The form factor is also nice - it can fit into pretty much any nook.
The length of the tiny USB cable it comes with is a bit obnoxious, but mine just lives on top of my mid-tower case, so it's not an issue (and not worth knocking any stars off, imho)

I am a global traveller and backup all my data where every possible. This was very easy to use via USB on my standard Dell 620, encryption software and password protection if required.
The size for the price WOW. My whole drive was backed up plus all DVDs/CDs I required for training were on this little power house.
This was stored in a travel pouch and left in my case as back up to laptop. No problems to date. A great back up device..
I am still playing ...

I've been thinking about buying this drive but was afraid it would not work with a single USB port as people said here. My USB ports do limit power to max 500mA. However, surprise, it does work and I've had no problems reading nor writing. I also tried it on couple of other Dell notebooks with no problems. I bought mine (black) at Costco with included neoprene carrying case. It is a nice drive, the form factor is cool although I would preffer a metal case. I recommend it.

This is one of the best external hard drive i ever been used for long time, I am always fan of Western Digital hard drive, and so far I got 4 of them, they all works wonderful, I just need another one with my new MAcbook pro-since the other using for PC- in order for running Time Machine but without any power requirement so this is the best with biggest storage, light weight and nice design in this line so far. Very sleek and small for it's capacity. Initially I used a different (longer) USB cable to hook it up to my laptop and it wouldn't work. I switched to the cable that came in the package and bingo, it worked fine. The longer USB cable wasn't able to supply enough juice to the drive. I wish the "optional" two USB plug cable wasn't so expensive, so I could be prepared for any low power eventuality. I would certainly recommend this external drive.
