This Western Digital My Book seemed to have the most memory for the money. After taking My Book out of the box, plugging into power, and plugging in the firewire cable, I began backing up my MacBook and transferring other backup files from an older Western Digital HD. I took a quick look at Western Digital's backup software but wasn't too impressed. I used my own system for backing up my files. I like the small size of My Book. It's also very quiet. I can recommend My Book as an easy to use and very reasonably priced Hard Drive.Customer Review: Works pretty well

I attached this little thing to my G5 Mac using FireWire and it came up immediately on my desktop. No need for any additional software or anything else. I got it in July and so far it has been working pretty well. It is very silent and though at times when I rendering video files directly to it, it does get a little too warm to touch. other than that i think this is a great investment and i am buying a couple more of these babies.
P.S. They also look great on the shelf. I am getting the white ones just because. :)

This hard disk had dual interface (Firewire and USB). Both works well but there is no considerable difference in the datatransfer rate. If you are looking for better transfer speeds, harddisks with eSATA interface are way faster. I have travelled a lot carrying this one and I did not have any problems. It even works in all countries (Different power voltages and frequencies with out needing a power adaptor). Ships with FAT32 disk format. I quickly formatted to NTFS and works well with Vista and Xp Sp2.Customer Review: GREAT EXTERNAL HD

This is the second one that I have purchased. I am a party DJ and my 120 GIG music collection resides on two of these drives which I use when I DJ. The Firewire interface gives non interruptable performance, it spins at 7200 RPM and I interface these drives with an APPLE Macbook. Best external hard drives that I have ever used. The Firewire interface is the way to go. THe reason I have two of these drives is for redundancy in case one should fail during a performance.Customer Review: Extremely Convenient

FINNALLY!MORE THAN ENOUGH SPACE!! Works perfectly. The only problem i have with it though is that my data transfers alot faster when i use the USB port than the Firewire.-_- I don't know, maybe that is just with me...Otherwise A MUST HAVE!! Great for storing your Videos, Programs, Documents, anything you can think of so as to free up space on your PC. Right now i am seriously considering on buying another one! But with more space!! ^_^ Western Digital is awesome!
