Customer Review: Great Phone and Answering System for those Hard of Hearing Folks

Great product for those who are hard of hearing. I purchased this item for my 85 year old mother who is hard of hearing. I work at a school for the deaf and previously order two phones made especially for those with hearing problems. Although she could hear the speaker on the other end, the clarity of her voice was sounded muffled. I had to return both of them to another vendor that supplies products for hard of hearing people. I had heard that this phone so I purchased in from Amazon and gave it a try. It was a great selection! The volume is loud enough for my mother to hear the caller and the clarity of her voice is superb to the listener. We've had this phone / answering machine for about a month now and are very happy with it. It is very easy to set up the answering machine and retrieve messages. The quality of the calls is also good. The ringer volume is very loud and we can hear it even in the basement. We have not had any problem with the receiver falling off (we have it mounted on the wall in the kitchen). The instruction booklet is extremely helpful and easy to understand also. The only suggestion for the manufacturer would be to change the color of the power supply cord from black to white. The phone is white and looks a little odd having a black cord on the wall to the outlet when mounted on the wall.Customer Review: QUALITY AND PERFORMANCE

I ordered this phoneAT&T White Corded Speakerphone (2909)amonth ago and was so impressed with it that we ordered a second one for another location in our home. It is very easy to install, set up and use, the speaker quality (our main concern) is outstanding, and it has other features (such as caller ID, clock, memory, answering, etc. some of which we do not use) not to mention the surprisingly low price. We probably will buy one or two more to replace phones we have in other rooms that do not have these features.Customer Review: Great Phone-Help for Handset Falling

I recently purchased the 1856 and experienced the same problem the reviewer did as listed in the comment, "warning: when you mount it on the wall, the handset slides off".
Solution: the small plastic piece (less than 1"x1") located just under the handset ear piece slips out. When you slip it out, there is a small hook on one end. Turn the plastic piece around, insert it back into the phone base, and your handset will stay securely in place, even mounted on the wall.
The phone works great!

I love this phone! I have it wall-mounted, so easy to install and so convenient to use. The sound quality of the outgoing message is excellent, no distortion whatsoever. The volume control is amazing, the best I've ever experienced. The answering-machine features are easy to use. There is probably no better phone of this kind on the market, but there are plenty that are far more expensive.
