Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of USB VOIP Skype PhoneCustomer Review: Great Simple Little Phone Summary: 4 Stars
This phone was very easy to install. I had to make a slight adjustment to the sound system settings in my computer but I was up and running within about 5 minutes. Plugs into the USB port and is very handy. The size of a cell phone. The only negative I would say about this phone is that the ringer is not loud enough for me. I wish it rang louder. But otherwise I am very pleased with this phone. It was inexpensive, so I really didn't expect much. To my surprise it is a great little phone for the price.
Customer Review: Cheap & efficient for Skype but blocks the sound Summary: 4 Stars
Great for the price and the purpose. The sound is clear, the device is small.
Comes with a driver that you need to install. The thing I don't like is that when the phone is plugged into a USB port, your computer's built-in speakers are blocked. So you need to unplug the phone when not using it.
Works well on Windows XP, notice says it does not work on Vista. I installed it anyway but it creates some problems
Customer Review: VOIP Skype phone Summary: 4 Stars
USB VOIP Skype Phone The phone was exactly what we wanted. It is simple to use and required no instilation; just plug it in and Skype immediately recognises it. We were able to talk to our daughter in Madrid as if she were just down the street.
Customer Review: Works as Described. Summary: 4 Stars
Simply plug it in to your usb port, change sound card configuration if needed and away you go. Only drawback is not sure how it works on a mac, as the enclosed software is for pc's only. Good sound quality and eaae of use.
Customer Review: Sort of works with SIP VOIP Summary: 3 Stars
This review is for people wanting to use this phone for SIP VOIP providers other than SKYPE and free third-party softphones. I am using it with SIPGATE but I think just about any other SIP provider would also work. I was wanting to use it with the excellent free X-Lite softphone. I was able to make that work great on my old office computer running Microsoft XP. Basically all of the buttons, keypad, microphone and speaker work. I'll probably get a year's worth of use out of this phone before I put that old 'puter out to pasture.
On my laptop running Microsoft Vista, it was a different story. With the USB phone plugged in the X-Lite software immediately died with a fatal error. I installed the X-Tenn driver that is supposed to make this phone work with X-Lite and the driver immediately died when the USB phone was plugged into the USB Port. I finally abandoned X-Lite and started using a rather inferior and very simple softphone provided by my SIP provider SIPGATE. I was able to get the speaker and microphone to work but not the keypad. Basically, as another reviewer noted, this product is not VISTA compatible. It is kind of pathetic that they are still marketing a product that is at least 5 years out of date and not providing updated drivers. I wish I had just bought a headset. This phone was not very expensive but it is kind of a waste of money unless you have an antique computer and plan to keep using it for a few more years.
