Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Verbatim 95310 8.5GB 6x Double Layer DVD+R DL Discs (20pk Spindle)Customer Review: The best dual-layer DVD media out there. Period Summary: 5 Stars
It's pretty common knowledge that Verbatim makes the best dual-layer DVDs. I use these to make backup copies of my navigation DVDs and so far I have not had one fail on me.
Now, you might read here and there about how the disks from India should be avoided like the plague, but there is nothing to worry about. The ones I order from Amazon are consistently from Singapore. I have yet to receive a set from India.
Yes, these disks might fetch a premium, but when using them in something as intense as a constantly spinning navi drive, the premium is well worth it.
Customer Review: First time trying this brand...... Summary: 5 Stars
After reading all the reviews & updates to the older reviews on the various brands of these type of DVDs (Dual layers) I decided to go with these & boy am I GLAD! Not a coaster on any of them that I've burned so far & I used 12 on my first burn job! all work great & I feel even if thety are not the cheapest up front, they are in the long run as you KNOW that every one you get should burn correctly & be usable, NO WASTE or wasted time & frustration, so do your self a favor, & order these! Amazon delivered promptly(as usual & ALWAYS a plus in my book!)2 thumbs! Buy with confidence!
Customer Review: Excellent Media, works with Macbook Pro Summary: 5 Stars
Honestly, I've only tried one other dual-layer media. It was made by memorex and every single disc, out of the 5 pack, failed. So far, I've burned 3 of these verbatim discs and they've burned perfectly. I have a macbook pro from the summer of 2008 and I used roxio toast to burn.
Before you buy any media, do some research on your specific disc burner first. There are some brands of media that seem to work better with certain equipment than with others. With that said, I've yet to hear anything bad about this media from those I know who have used it.
Customer Review: quick review - GREAT DVD-R-DL Summary: 5 Stars
This is just a really quick review to reiterate what others have said. Ever since I switched to using these Verbatim DVD-R-DL, I have not had a single "coaster". They all work perfectly well with my Memorex external burner using Nero recode. I am a now a loyal user of these DVDs. They cost a little more; but if you put them in your amazon cart and check often, the price drops low every couple of months to about $1.25/disc ($25 for a pack of 20 blanks), which I think is a pretty good deal. A year ago they cost twice that, so I'm not complaining.
Customer Review: Best DL-DVDRs Around Summary: 5 Stars
I've been buying the same Verbatim DVD+R DL discs for about 2 years and by far they are the best recordable media I've used. Suffice to say that I've made far fewer coasters with the Verbatim discs than any other disc brand I've tried.
I use the discs for a variety of functions; backing up home movies, for transferring data between work and home (my office does not allow jump drives) and the discs have alway been super reliable.
I'm using a Windows XP machine running NERO 7 burning on a TSST drive.
