I have bought and gone through two spindles of dl Verbatim discs now from this page this year. Both were manufactured in Singapore.
I have not had one coaster yet. I burn all of my discs on my 3 year old laptop OEM DL burner using IMGBurn and have had great success, despite my girlfriend sometimes opening firefox in the background. Though I try not to have anything else running while I burn a disc.
To burn one of these Verbatim discs it takes about 45min for me at 2.4x. Which isn't bad since my burner takes about 25 min to burn a single layer dvd at max speed.
I have not had any problems yet and will update if a future shipment of these discs don't work as well.

I have tried other dual layer dvds (memorex gag) and these outshine them in every way. I'll admit i didn't get any coasters with memorex but when i popped the burned memorex disc into my xbox i would often get read errors. It also made my dvd drive work really hard to try to read the dvd. I was desperate but when i read somewhere that verbatim dvds are much better i decided to give them a try. After i got the verbatim dvds and burned one, i got NO read errors. The dvd drive didn't need to work so hard just to read it and i got to play some games :)
I would recommend these to anyone looking for backup discs for the xbox. They are simply the best. Don't waste your money on other brands.

Verbatim 8.5GB 2.4x Dual-Layer DVDs work fine on my DVD burner TSSTcorp TS-L632D. It's my first try burning dual layer DVD. For burning regular single-layer DVDs on my burner, any brands of DVDs are fine. But for dual-layer, it might not work on just any brands. I tried a brand with the cheapest price, 0 success out of 8 discs in a row in a 25-disc package. I returned them for store credit. I got some help from customer reviews and found this product at Amazon.com. I also chose 2.4x speed because it's the only speed my DVD burner supports. It might not work if I bought 8x or 16x. Fair price, fast and free shipping by Amazon. I would recommend this product to anyone buying dual-layer blank DVDs.Customer Review: Flawless backups using imgburn

Ive noticed the only problem is my DVD burner sometimes will error out in the first minute of burn.
Instead of tossing the disc away I try again and unplug my power adapter on my laptop. I wait until it gets 3% in and then plug my laptop back in. I have a 2005 sony vaio sz
Maybe if your burning on a laptop and it errors in the first minute try running off of battery power. You don't have to burn at 2.4X
Ive burned at 2.0X 1X and up to 6X and backup XBOX 360 games have all ran as smooth as my Original ;)
Ive gone through 3 of these packs so about 60 discs and only 2 have been bad. So not to bad

Verbatim has been known for making the most reliable DVD DL's out there. Now there is some controversy with them because while other brands have remained consistent in quality (Sony, etc.) Verbatim has outsourced some of its production to India, where the quality is just nowhere near the level which was expected of it when it manufactured these disks exclusively in Singapore. The Singapore disks are still top-notch though, and they are precisely those that Amazon is offering here. You're better off buying Sony or TDK than going for those MII (Made in India) Verbatim disks, but at least these Verbatim disks are the same quality they've always been - far superior to anything else out there.
