I spend a lot of my time outside the US, but on occasion, I would purchase the odd electrical appliance rated at 110v by mistake. It's always nice to have one of these babies around.
I bought the VT-500 more than 8 months ago, and even though I haven't used it extensively since then (I bought it to power a polk subwoofer, folks around me do not like loud music as much as I do, so I don't turn it on a lot), my impressions are that this is a well built transformer. Unlike previous step up/down transformers purchased, they would introduce a certain hum to the appliance, especially audio equipment. I have not had any such issues with this. It seems to handle fluctuating voltage very well with no interference to my sound.
I'm glad I bought this. Great product.
