Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of V-MODA Vibe In-Ear Noise-Isolating Metal Headphone (Gunmetal Black)

Customer Review: Great for running
Summary: 5 Stars

I read almost every review on the V-Moda Vibe Earbuds and the picture of the connector coming apart almost made me not buy them. I have a second generation Nano. I have big ear canals. I am not an audiophile. In fact I try to listen with lower volume to protect my ears. I compared the V-Moda Vibes to the stock Apple iPod earphones, Apple earbuds and Shure E2C.

Pros
1) Sound quality is great, better than the Apple and to me, maybe as good as the Shure E2C.
2) Fits my big ear canals better than the Apple earbuds or Shure E2C.
3) Never falls out when running. The Shures always would and Apple earbuds would sometimes.
4) Trivial, but the cable never got stiff when I would run in the cold weather. The Shures cable would get stiff. Also the V-Moda has a braided jacket over the cable.

Cons
None.

A reviewer talked about three generations of the V-Moda Vibes. I think one generation has a straight jack and the next generation has about 135 degree jack. I'm reviewing the V-Moda with a 135 degree jack.

Customer Review: This non-audiophile LOVES these new earbuds!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

Okay, so first of all, I'm not an audiophile type guy, okay? I don't have a 'music room' in my house and I don't have scientific equipment to determine sound clarity or anything like that. What I do is listen to music to fall asleep, to get some 'me' time on the back deck and to make the soul-crushing commute go a little better. And I have to say that compared to the dozen or so sets of earphones I've tried so far, these are AWESOME! In fact, as I was listening to them last night, I realized that there are subtle base-lines and rythms to some of my music that I had never heard before because the other speakers I use weren't able to define the sounds the way these do... It's like I have a whole new library of music!
So. Before you get too excited, let me caveat this by saying that the competition so far has been lower end Sony, Craig, Philips, Koss and JVC products. By comparison... who am I kidding? There is no comparison. I just can't beleive it took me this long to finally find a kickin' set of phones in my price range.

Customer Review: best IEM's for under 100
Summary: 5 Stars

I had the very first Vmoda's back when they were $99 and there was only one version. loved them and they lasted about 3 years. At the time I thought they should have lasted longer, but after going through several other brands trying to find a replacement. I came back to Vmoda and the same ones I had (or close to it) are now only $35 with shipping.

Sound quality can't be beat for under a $100 and even the high end IEMs are susceptible to the flaws that are inherent to the design of and IEM. The areas where the cord connects to the phones and connects to the jack are always the first places for IEMs to break (regardless of price). The cord noise with the Vmoda is the best I've experienced. there is some noise because that is part of IEM no way to really avoid that. but other lesser company's will give you clips to try and minimize the amount of cord movement while wearing. not the Vibes, they just work. no need for clips or weird wrapping your ears with the slack in the cord (worth it right there).

Customer Review: In the ear and on the money
Summary: 5 Stars

I was enough impressed about these earbuds that I bought another set for a friend. I know some people cannot stand the feel of an in-ear earphone, but, if you can, this product will certainly please you. It comes with three sets of seals - small, medium, and large - and with the correct seal, the sound response is amazing (there IS bass lurking in your iPod!) whether you are programming in front of a computer in a noisy office or just flying in an MD-80. Here is what I compare these to: the original Apple on-ear set never sat on my ear properly and never gave me the bass response I wanted; Panasonic on-ear headphones with noise cancelation at close to the same price (which seem almost as good as the much more expensive BOSE QC-3 but much better than my old cheaper noise-canceling SONY's) get rid of more noise and give a little better bass than these but will not fit in your shirt pocket next to your iPod. I never did try the $300 to $400 sets, and I don't think I need to.

Customer Review: Sweet set of ear phones
Summary: 5 Stars

I've always preferred over the ear, encasing head phones. I always believed that this would give me the greatest sound quality and the most bass response. But...after googling for the "Best earphones under $100" I came across these. I read many reviews and finally decided to give them a try. When I first tried them I found the med sized ear piece most comfortable and used them. I noticed that they wouldn't stay in my ears very well and the bass was kinda weak. I remembered that others had stressed the importance of a good seal so I tried the smaller size again. This did the trick. Now the bass was very good and the mids and highs very clear and crisp. I can say I am very satisfied with these earphones. My principle use is watching action movies on my laptop. I just like to feel the explosions and these to the trick while keeping the talking and other sounds clear and realistic. Excellent Buy!
