Customer Review: The Optimus Prime of Vibes

First, I have been using Vibes for over two years now. My first pair lasted for much longer than most people have said they would. I was VERY pleased with the product. These headphones are simply awesome. Inevitably, the wire on that pair frayed at the jack (as expected), but they definitely fulfilled their purpose and price at the time (almost $90 two years ago).
With that said, I am not writing this review objectively; rightly so I have a strong bias in favor of V-Moda. I am a bassist, and while I don't consider myself an audiophile--I definitely care about the quality of my music. I have tried many pairs of upper quality headphones, and NONE have compared to V-Moda.
Accordingly, I decided to upgrade to these new Vibes (it was the very same night my last pair failed,) and I am not disappointed. The overall consensus I have read so far is that these are an IMPROVED version of Vibes. I wholeheartedly Agree! Everything that I loved about the old Vibes were there, and some!
I listen to a large selection of music, and from every end of the scale: opera, funk, acid jazz, prog rock, electronica, R&B, classical, dance music, old skool, alternative, acoustic, and my favorite Bass driven bands ALL SOUND AWESOME. I didn't think it was possible to improve the audio quality on the old vibes, but I was wrong. These new Vibes are bright, crisp, deep, and most importantly CLEAN--I believe that these headphones deliver the cleanest sound I've ever head, from all types of music I listen too.
Next, the build quality is better than the old vibes too. These headphones are sleek of course, but the fabric wire guard, and the new angled jack are a great improvement from the old vibes. They dont tangle as easily, and I dont worry about the jack fraying.
About the phone capabilities, all that I have mentioned above applies. They work exceptionally well as an hands-free device. I have no difficulties hearing, and being heard. They dont pick up too much ambient noise, and because of the fabric sheathing, they dont get took much microphone vibrations from rubbing against your clothing.
Overall, if you like V-Moda, or if you never tried them before--these headphones can only impress. Granted, they are pricey, however IMO they are worth it. A word of caution though, I take care of my headphones, I dont just wrap them up and throw them in a pocket--so if your looking for a throw-around pair of phones this review may not be good for you.
In addition, I have only been using these for about a week now, so I cannot speak about longevity yet. However, I WILL UPDATE this review if my opinion changes at all.

As promised I am updating my review.
I've been using the earphones for quite some time now, and I still love the sound quality. So I still give these a 5 star rating.
In contrast, there has been on thing that I have noticed about the fabric wrapped cord--it is much easier to tangle and crimp if your not careful. So, as I mentioned in my first review, I would not recomend these as a pair of throw around headphones. I keep mine in a hard case (not the provided case,) and I try to be cautious with them. However, that is not to say that they are fragile: I'd rather ere on the side of caution personally.
Additionally, V-Moda prices have gone down considerably, and their cheaper sets, like the bass frequency earbuds, are great for throw around sets. I use them with the MP3 players I store in my pockets.
