Customer Review: I don't get why people are complaining about these.....
Summary: 5 Stars

I used to use skullcandy's smokin buds. But after a year, they broke and I wanted to get a new one. My friends introduced me to vmoda vibe duos and I LOVED THEM~. I don't understand why a lot of people are saying that these are badly built... I had mine for over a year and they are still working fine. (I listen to my zune hd with them almost every day.) However, I know that the vibes (vibe, vibe duos, and vibe II are all different.)are not made very well. My little brother had it for about 5 months before it broke. The cording is made of plastic/rubber whereas the vibe duo chords are made of kevlar.

Even though, I put sound quality as 4/5 they are very good. After using these, bose doesn't sound all that great anymore. However, the main reason I chose 4 is because I found the monster turbines. The monster turbines have just as good sound quality but what made that one a bit better is the bass. There is a bit more bass coming from them than from the vmoda vibe duos.

However for the price, vmoda vibes are the way to go. [vibe duos cost 79 dollars retail, but monster turbines cost another 100 dollars totaling at 180 dollars.]

Finally! The headphones with a CALL BUTTON, for which I have been patiently waiting. I own a pair of Shure E2 to which I will compare these bad*ss phones. As stated in another review, I must agree that the call button is somewhat small and hard to find in a hurry - but it is definitely there! Also, as all other reviews mention, these are very bass heavy to appeal to hip-hop culture I assume. I like all kinds of music and I find them to be better than the Shure E2s. I set my iPhone EQ setting to "treble booster" to balance out the treble and bass a bit and the sound is amazing. I have read reviews about the cord - I must say I like the rope-like texture, but wonder about the lifespan. These phones don't wrap around the ear like the Shure E2 (that area behind the ear came uncovered on the Shure E2s, the wire was exposed from use) so maybe they'll last longer...

The call button: Press once to pause, twice to advance tracks. Just like the iPhone headset. And, of course, press to answer/end calls.

When I called an astute friend, he was not able to detect that I was using a headset- but I wasn't anywhere windy or loud.. so I can't vouch for mic quality.

Customer Review: An all in one that works
Summary: 5 Stars

There a handful of factors that are important to me in headphones: sound quality at both low and high volumes, convenience, fit in my ear, and price. Finally, VModa is the headphone that works all the way around. It doesn't get tangled like my Apple headphones; it just seems to unravel quickly when I need it thanks to the fabric lining around the cord. I can turn the sound way up, and not worry about blowing them out (unlike the Apple headphones). I can turn the sound way down, and still receive intimate quality of sound, both bass and tweeter. The variety of ear bud sizes solves the "won't stay in my ears when I exercise" problem. And best of all, all of this quality comes with a very affordable price. It is so nice to have a set of earphones that are easy, reliable, sound great, and come with a great little leather case. A quality buy, and I highly suggest them. This year alone I have bought 3 Apple headphones, but they keep breaking on me. I should have bought VModa a long time ago. Quality is always better over the long haul.

Customer Review: Great Headphones
Summary: 5 Stars

The VMODA vibe duo was the headphones I bought to replace the stock iPhone headphones after the right ear bud of that pair failed.

These headphones are much better than the stock ear buds not because of superior sound but because of the passive noise reduction. I can wear the Vibe Duo ear buds with no music playing and the background noise in the cubicle farm in which I work is reduced by at least half. When the music is playing I can not hear anything happening around me in the office even at moderate volumes.

I can even use a gasoline lawnmower with just the Vibe Duo headphones and still listen to music clearly at less than 2/3 full volume.

The self-closing carrying pouch it handy. The construction seems robust. I would buy these again.

The sound is base heavy compared to stock. Folks who say that the sound quality is bad must have better hearing than me. I probably could not tell the difference between any phones unless I compared directly one after the other.

Customer Review: Great Value
Summary: 5 Stars

I use these with my iPnone. The ear phones that come with the iPhone just don't meet my needs in terms of comfort, fit and sound quality. The Vibe Duo are quite comfortable for extended music listening and nice for conferance calls. The sound quality is great for the price. You certainly can get better sound with other earphones but, you will also pay more, much more.

The microphone and controls also integrate perfectly with the iPhone.

There are also two other small details that make a significant difference with these earphones. The first is the fact that these earphones have an off-set plug to connect to the iPhone. This is very convient especially if you are talking on the phone while also stuffing the phone in a pocket or phone cover.

Also, the cords on many earphones rub together and create a distracting sound, the Vibe Duo's cords not only minimize this sound but also seem to reduce cord "tangle".

Little details like this are quite nice.
