Customer Review: Ever Hear of this Company Before? You will!

I had dropped 300 before on Shure E4c-n Sound Isolating Earphones (Black)'s (which are now $179). I was raving about them because of the quality and the noise cancellation. The complaints I had for the Shure's was horrid Bass manipulation. Even with the bass all the way up, it shaky, really loose and very shallow. But hey, at the time it did the job and I was extremely happy. It was SO much better than anything stock or even some expensive ones that lacked noise cancellation.
With me moving over to listening to the iPhone vs. the Helix (XM) I needed something better than the stock earphones for the iPhone. I was using the stock white phones today and it was ok. Not as bad as the previous stock earphones but no where near the Shure's quality and certainly NO cancellation (try listening on the subway!) The problem with the Shures + iPhone is that I needed an adapter and it didn't have the phone/skip song button on the wire like the stock one.
So I went shopping.
After reading a few sites, looking around I've made a bold (or stupid) move to go to something I've never even heard of, V-Moda? What the hell is that?
It wasn't as pricey as my Shure's were at the time, but it was NOT cheap either.
They arrived today.
I laid out my stock, daughter's "good earphones", my Shures, and the new V-Moda. I tested on three players: Helix, iPod, and iPhone.
Stock: What Apple includes with their gadget is way better than they used to be. Still. It was better than before but that's not saying much. Bass was shakey, treble was trembling, and no noise cancellation? Once you use earphones with noise cancellation you will never go back.
Shures4c: The best player for these earphones was the iPhone. Helix was very "gloomy" like the music/quality was really scrappy (and you can't compare XM quality music with CD quality-- at least not for me). Helix was the worst performer but since this is the combo I've used for almost a year, this was enough for me and I was content. Hey, noise cancellation alone, without any music is gold here in NYC!
V-Moda: I have not said anything about these, keeping the best for last. Holy cow did they blow me away. On all three players these were just SOOO rich. Bass was THUMPING, very TIGHT, and very rich. Treble was amazing no matter what you were playing, Country or Armin Van Buuren it was just KICKING. While the noise cancellation was not better than Shures, it was still optimum. What I also liked was the more snugly fit earbuds and the extensions they came with. Very nicely done and the plugs are plugged in such a way that you don't need to scrape earwax (I know it's gross but that was the MO of using other noise cancellation tech).
Of course the best part for me is that the V-Modas came with the iPhone controls on the wires.
