Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of V-MODA Bass Freq In-Ear Stereo Headphone (Bling Bling Black)

Customer Review: Huge improvement over apples earbud
Summary: 5 Stars

These earbuds defiantly hold up to title description and are better then the same price you would pay for apples version. I have a ipod and i also paid a lot of money for apples version of earbuds, while they were significantly louder the thin silicon ear cups were disappointing in holding themselves inside my ear as i worked out. Even more so they were too fragile when the cord got disconnected and i was left with just one working ear bud. I buy these V-MODA and not only does the black color match my black ipod but they were cheaper and work better. The silicon cups are thicker then apples and hold way better, i switched from the small to medium size and hardly move; also due to the thickness it locks out outside noise better. The sound itself is very sharp and the bass itself kicks in on certain songs with a decent beat, i highly recommend you buy these earbuds especially at the price they are being offered. Lastly these earbuds come with a small plastic cord tab to wrap up the excess cord so it doesn't swing wildly around and get caught on corners, very helpful as well at the gym

Customer Review: 4.5/5 in my book
Summary: 5 Stars

these are some pretty solid buds. i would say 4.5 because i still feel that overall the Zune premium v2 buds are the best i've used as far as under $50. the bass is as advertised once you find the right fittings for your ears (comes with 3 sizes). the cable rapper is pretty handy. they don't really look like they will break any records as far as longevity but i think that is pretty much how ear buds are as i never have a pair last more than a year since they have a tendency to get yanked out of my ears repeatedly over time which weakens the connections. they may be a little bassy for some and this kind of reduces the quality of the highs and mids which sound kind of "airy". i'm mad i lost them after only 2 days (and trust me, i've been searching for them for a week now) but the fact that i just ordered another pair should be a testament to my satisfaction.

so basically, audiophiles on a budget should go with the Zune premium v2s but if you don't mind sacrificing a little sound quality in the highs and mids for some quality bass, the Bass Freqs are the set for you.

Customer Review: These are not audophile headphones -- so they sound great!
Summary: 5 Stars

These are the best sounding earbuds I've encountered so far. I like DEEP bass and balanced mids and clear highs and this product delivers. I've tried
Etymotic ER6 buds and was wowed by the brilliant highs but severly disapointed with the TOTAL lack of bass they produced. The Bass Freqs are superb for the low end and great on the mid and pretty decent on the high end -- they do not sound muddy, but aren't 'brilliant' like the Etymotic buds. If you have an adjustable EQ on your player (like on my Sandisk Sansa e280) you can boost the high end frequencies to taste -- problem solved for me.

If you listen to bass heavy music (think Enigma, Black Eyed Peas, etc...) then these won't disapoint and you'll really appreciate V-moda for not trying to be audiophile buds and giving bass loving, EQ using folk out there an option to get great sound without costing an arm and a leg. I've already got 2 more Bass Freqs on order as backup and will probably buy more as I've not found anything that works so well with my listening preferences!

Customer Review: Fantastic
Summary: 5 Stars

I just purchased a pair of these because the reviews were so good and the price was so reasonable. I have to say that I am very impressed, after a week's listening to them. My ER-6's and the Bose in-ear phones that I returned were not this good - no kidding. I've used them working out, without a problem. They stayed in, and the sound was great. I found I only had to turn the volume less than halfway on my mp3 player, whereas with the others, I had to go higher. The noise blocking is great, too. They are comfortable, too. You might experiment with different sizes in different ears. I use the big one in my left ear, but the medium in my right. Makes it easy to tell which side is which, though.

I'm not sure why someone would say they sound cheap and muddy, as mine sound clear and crisp, with just the right amount of bass. I did change the equalizer setting on my mp3 to get just the right mix, so maybe that was the problem with the other reviewer.

This was one of the better electronics buys I've made.

Customer Review: My second pair -- simply great
Summary: 5 Stars

After a month, I ditched my iPod-supplied earphones, which I found to be tinny and incredibly uncomfortable. Upgraded to the v-Moda bass in white over a year ago. The sound is spectacular. Fits the ear great, due to 3 different sizes of ear bud adapters. And they are pretty close to noise-cancelling. Not complete, but good enough to drown out the very loud chatter on the Metro every day. So much noise is cancelled that I can't wear them (safely) for running.

I don't know why v-Moda refers to this pair as "bling bling." There is nothing flashy about them.

I abused the white earbuds sufficiently (shoved in jean pockets, bottom of briefcase) that they broke. Thankfully, the price is right, so I picked up a pair of the black the next day. Sound is still great, though for some reason, the wires on the black are less supple than the white pair. Still, when you consider the price and sound and compare them to the crap you'll get for $20-30 off the rack at Best Buy -- well, there's really no comparison.
