I am very satisfied with this laminating pouches, not only because of the cheaper price, but also for its performance. 100 of 5 mil pouches in the box. I have a Scotch TL901 laminator, I just run them once and anything I feed in is completely sealed off.
5 mil is just the right thickness. 3 mil is generally for full size diplomas, etc. 5 mil is great for photos, ID's, etc.
For pictures, it works best with the glossy finish. Most of my pictures are matte, which I prefer because it can handle fingerprints much better. But if you know you will be laminating it, go for the glossy finish. The result I am getting is flawless. (Not that matte will not work). Just dust off the pictures, make sure there are no strand of hairs or other little things that you don't want to be embedded in there.
The size is perfect for 4 x 6 pictures, which is the most common size. You can also use it for ID's, business cards and other smaller size samples. You just have to manually cut them to the right size.
