I bought this phone for my mother who is now needing larger digits. The phone works well and the cordless handset works well. My only recommendation at this is the speed dialing options on both phones. The capabilities and programming methods on different for the base unit and the cordless phone. The base unit only has 4 programmable keys (a,b,c,d) the hand set has 10 (0-9); this is confusing for my mother and it would be nice for her to have the same programmability in each phone. She would be able to remember more easily having the same options on each phone for speed dialing. She says there is some echo on the cordless phone sometimes - we'll have to see how that plays out - could be the other part.Customer Review: A good, serviceable phone with great features

The Uniden CEZAI998 is a very easy phone to set up. For us older folks it has nice large buttons and an easy-to-read display with great sound and clarity for incoming calls. I would, however, prefer that the handset of the cordless phone provide better "side tone" to hear my own voice during calls and that it also have a speakerphone capability. In addition, the flat white plastic construction shows kitchen residue if not wiped down repeatedly. Overall, I would recommend this phone for people who want the features important to those with less than perfect sight and hearing while giving the freedom of a cordless phone in addition to the base unit with speakerphone.Customer Review: telephone

Telephone setup was challenging. Still having problem with static when calling, both incoming and outgoing. Not sure how to correct the problem; sometimes static clears during conversation, but it returns in same conversation. More information needs to be provided in setup instructions and/or "problem solving" portion of brochure to correct this problem. Also, should include in brochure about connection issues when customer has DSL Internet service provider. Overall, I am pleased with the telephone "box" and cordless handset, the backlighting, the "announcer" feature for incoming messages. I purchased this item for my almost 82 year old mother, who refuses to wear glasses to see the CID. She also has to have the phone so loud in order to hear things,although she swears there is nothing wrong with her hearing. This phone has a voice alert that announces who the caller is and although some of the announcement tends to be garbled, or should I say over pronounced, it is adequate in its purpose. The numbers are large enough so that you can dial without getting glasses and is great for those with arthritic fingers. It is easy to use and I would recommend it to anyone who needs a little help seeing who is calling.Customer Review: Great Safety Item

This was purchased for elderly parents home. They had problems with the small numbers on their other phones and we found they were unable to use their old phone in an emergency to contact 911. In addition my step-father wears hearing aids in both ears and still has problems hearing on a regular telephone. I installed this systems for them and it has worked great and he can use the speaker mode and hear real well and can also do better than any other system using the receiver. It would help if the base unit had more than 4 speed dial numbers but at least it does have the four for emergencies.
