This is a fabulous phone. Absolutely one of the best we've tried. It was a purchase for my 70-year-old mother which I made after reading the reviews here, and she just loves it! Dad was an old AT&T man so you can only imagine how picky they are about phones. And, after many, many attempts, this one fit the bill. The sound is fabulous, but it also contains the old fashioned push button type phone with an attached extension, with the clarity that resembles the old Bell Telephone system phones. (Too bad they're not free like they used to be in the good old days!) Mom set this up by herself without any difficulties whatsoever, so if you're thinking about a purchase for an older person, or even a young person just starting out, this is a great investment and one that will be around for quite awhile. I needed a phone that had at least three features: Corded so that I had a phone during electrical failures, a digital answering machine, and a loud ring capability, as I am hard of hearing. This phone has all these features, plus it's attractive, and there is an extra handset that I can use in another room. The set up was easy....with a clearly written manual combined with voice prompts from the phone base. The base handset is a very comfortable weight and has a very natural "hand fit". Also, the sound quality is excellent. I've only used the remote handset once, but it worked as well as the base handset. I would recommend this phone for anyone, not just "older" folks who need the larger keypad or the louder ring!Customer Review: We're not elderly or disabled and we love it!

We bought this phone even though we're in our thirties with healthy eyes and ears. We keep this phone in our home office, and it's the only phone in the house. We can take the wireless to the workshop, basement or kitchen, but the corded base means the phone never runs out during a conference call (a problem with our older cordless). We also love the spoken caller ID feature - if we're out of the room we don't need to run in to see how important the call is! In my mind, big easy to read buttons make the phone easy to use. The whole set up is just the right mix of intuitive ease (big buttons, easy to read displays, good portability, corded base) and technical sophistication (caller ID, light up ringing, speakerphone).Customer Review: Can't see too well, hard of hearing.. listen up and look at these

Like other posters, I purchased these for my parents who are aging gracefully. The phones are easy to hear with the volume boost and the ringer will wake the dead (or heavy napper). The caller ID screen is easy to read and the buttons are easy for arthritic fingers. It's about time someone made a phone like this with these features. You can always find a big button phone, but no large screen, and the loud ringers others offer are those high pitched piezo electric that are difficult to hear without hearing aids. I aslo purchased the stand alone cordless model which I have no complaints about.Customer Review: Great Phone for Older Person

I purchased this phone for my 84 year old mother-in-law. She LOVES it! The best part is that the buttons are big and easy to use especially for someone that might have some difficulty pushing the smaller phone buttons. She didn't need it for the light up feature, but that is a great asset. The main phone was used to replace her older one that they don't make any more. The answer machine is easy enough to understand and the directions for set-up, programming of favorite numbers and the instruction booklet are simple enough to follow.
