We've had several scanners over the years...this one was inexpensive, easy to program and use, and love the weather channel and battery back up. We live in an area prone to storms and tornadoes so when the power goes out, we can still hear what the emergency folks are saying. I have only one question for people who have alredy bought this scanner... Is it digital or analog? If its analog I don't want it because I will only be able to use it for about a year or year and a half. But if its digital, well, then thats a very good price for one. great radio-scannner at this price, anywhere...But you should use a piece of wire for the antenna NEAR-CLOSE to a window, if you want to pick-up more stations in your area...
I have been in the radio-communications field for 40+ years; I have a amateur radio license and a commercial radio license...

I got this for my husband for his Christmas present and he really likes it. This is his first scanner and the codes are really easy to put in. In our area we can't put in our police codes since they are hidden but we can hear everything else like fire and EMS. i do beieve that tis scanner could not get any better, i bought it for my boyfriend for christmas and he absolutely loves it. this is the first time we have purchased a scanner, but this one seems excellent, i do not think they could get any better, this product is definately worth every
