Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Tripp Lite U026-016 USB2.0 16-Feet Certified Active Extension CableCustomer Review: Works great, high-speed USB 2.0 *Active* Extension Summary: 5 Stars
Don't be confused by some of the reviews here. The title is correct: this is an *active 2.0* USB extension cable. I emphasize *active* and *2.0* because other cables not specifying these features are older and will not work with today's current high-speed ports.
I use it with my Logitech QuickCam Pro to capture an entire conference room full of people with no difference in transmission speed.
Customer Review: Go by Reviews, Not Price Summary: 5 Stars
Any USB extension over 15 feet requires an active cable. This one works just fine. I am connecting a VGA webcam to use as a security monitor and it needed to be a ways from the PC. I have not yet tried chaining a couple together.
I had earlier bought another brand that cost more but didn't work. Junk. So my advice is to buy the ones that have the most consistently good reviews.
Customer Review: It's a 16ft USB Cord with Repeaters Summary: 5 Stars
As above, this is a pretty simple review. It is a quality-made 16ft USB cord with signal repeaters so you can daisy-chain several of these together to string a USB cord across a long distance, with no signal degradation. They have a plastic and braided shielding to help prevent outside forces from degrading as well. All in all, it feels like a quality product for a relatively low price.
Customer Review: Tripp Lite Active USB 2.0 cable: It works Summary: 5 Stars
Amazon emailed me and want me to review this product. It works. I can plug a USB fill-in-the-blank 16 feet away from a 2.0 port on my PC and the USB fill-in-the-blank actually works. Ummmm... OH! It is silver in color so the chicks really dig it!
There you have it folks. It works AND you'll get all the girls' attention like it's a light beer commercial. Buy two. I did!
Customer Review: Worked at advertised Summary: 5 Stars
I needed to connect to a X-Y crosstable paper cutter located about 30 ft from the PC, and that length exceeded the USB 2.0 spec by about 2x. I considered a wireless solution, then looked at ratings on several lesser brands of active cables before selecting these. I daisy-chained two together, and they work fine. A little more expensive than some brands, but worth it.
