Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Tripp Lite A102-02M Digital Optical Audio Cable with 2 Toslink connectors - 2M (6ft)Customer Review: unbeatable price, quality product Summary: 5 Stars
One digital optical or toslink cable is just as good as another really - no matter what best buy would have you believe when they try to sell you one for an outrageous price. So go with this. We bought them from eforcity - arrived on time and in good shape, plugged them in, et viola.. we had great sound emanating from the newly hooked up Yamaha home theatre. My advice to anyone in the market for HDTVs is: buy 2-3 toslink and HDMI cables ahead of time. this way, when you get the TV you are ready to hook it up for optimal enjoyment. Also, order a few extra ones b/c they are prone to conking out over time from wear and when they do you don't want to be at the mercy of the big box retailer and their price tags. Can't go wrong at $4 (with shipping) now, can you?
Customer Review: Why pay more?? Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this cable to replace one of my other optical cables for my PS3 that had been crimped when I moved. I was a bit hesitant to purchase it seeing that it was one of the lower priced cables I saw. I always had the philosphy that you get what you pay for, and was happily wrong in this case! It may not be as durable as my monster cables that I bought retail at Radio Shack for around $20 a few years back, but it works perfectly. In fiber optics, they either work or don't work. Unless you are planning on switching this cable to different components on a regular basis it works fantastically. Crystal clear and well worth the money. Stop paying for overpriced cables that wont make a difference!!
Customer Review: Cheap, good quality cable Summary: 5 Stars
Got this to connect my TV sound to the receiver. The TV has a digital optical output and I used this cable to connect it to my home theater receiver. Free, over the air sports programming now sounds like I am sitting in the stadium! Here's the config:
1. Terk HDTVa Indoor Amplified High-Definition Antenna for Off-Air HDTV Reception
2. Tripp Lite Digital Audio Cable (optical) - 6 ft ( A102-02M ) (or any other optical cable)
3. HDTV
4. Home theater receiver and speakers
Customer Review: Works Summary: 5 Stars
When purchasing a cable cheap the rational tends to be A) how much can they really screw up a cable and B) if it sucks i didn't pay anything for it, usually making things a winners bet because you have set up a scenario where you can't really lose. This cable which I got for nothing compared to other optic cables i had seen going for upwards of $30 Does it's job. I have it going from my series 6 samsung to my sony surround sound and the sound quality is nothing short of amazing. I am sure a lot of this is my components but something has to hold them all together and this does the trick for a price that didn't break the bank, which is great in my book.
Customer Review: little package...big results Summary: 5 Stars
For $2.98 VS the $27.00 Rockfish cable at Best Buy I knew I had nothing to lose. When it arrived 3 days later my doubts were confirmed when I saw how thin the cable is. I figured it was easy enough to plug each end into my TV and Denon receiver and give it a try. I am amazed at how well it works. I get the same rich performance with my Denon receiver's 5.1 Surround system as I did when i had the more expensive Rockfish cable plugged in. Needless to say, I took the Rockfish (which was only 4') back to Best Buy. That was about a month ago and I have had no problems with the Tripp Lite Optical cable. Amazing...a 900% savings.
