This is a perfect GPS.
I have had no problems with this device so far.
All the complaints that i read about this product, i have found that it can be worked around.
1. It doesn't have text to speech
Well, people might not know, but in the settings menu you can turn on the option to see the next street coming up. I prefer to hear Turn left in .3 miles then a computer generated voice trying to pronounce street names.
2. Short battery life.
Well just keep your charger plugged in. Isn't that why they gave you a charger in the first place?
3. Old outdated maps.
Got me from point A to point B all over California.
4. Takes awhile to locate signal.
well isn't the signal dish in space?
5. Lack of POI.
Well sign onto tomtom Home, and download updates. It even had POI for medical marijuana's! LOL
6. GPS doesnt stick well to the dash, and sometimes falls off.
Are you going off roading with your car?
don't waste your money on this down economy and buy a cheap GPS that does the job... i mean come on, is a MP3 player, photo gallery, wide screen really needed? its a GPS device! its job is to tell you directions...

I got this as a gift for my brother. He's not the "read the manual" type. He was able to pretty much plug it in & go. It's so easy, but yet has everything you need!
Points of interest are customizable, & there are plenty to choose from. Different views, night time, day time, gas stations, ATM"s, etc.. It can speak to you & give you point by point directions, which you can set the voice, accent, male or female - or turn it off!
It also gives you so many different entertainment options in each area or city your in or going to - with the phone numbers, so you won't have to spend time & money on 411.
It doesn't take long to get a signal. We get one within a minute & so far - we never lost a signal!
There isn't any down side to this. It's one of the 4 top name brands, it gives you free updates, plus you can download lots of add-ons (if you want them). It tells you when streets are being worked on, gives you options of "fastest route" or "shortest route" and so on.
For $100.00 - you can't go wrong! Its so easy and reliable!

I predict uproar with this statement, a GPS is a GPS, most new products get you from point A to B quickly, have updated maps, POI, route options, etc. But TomTom is different in it's platform. The great content comes in what could be called Web 2.0, or user based information, it makes your GPS fun and more accurate. You can easily download voice options or even record your own voice (or your mothers) to give the direction commands. I currently have Clint Eastwood giving my turn by turn navigation. The audio fidelity is excellent with the large speaker in the back, no annoying buzzy sounding woman giving you directions. Users can edit maps such as when a road closes for construction that change can then be seen by other TomTom users! TomTom is an excellent device with everything you could want in a GPS, I'm glad to see such an excellent blend of technology and embracing user generated content. All my friends comment after hearing Clint Eastwood tell me to turn right, oh so I guess TomTom is better than Garmin.Customer Review: Great GPS

I purchased the TomTom ONE 125 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator for myself for Christmas and with the price of the unit you can't go wrong. One of the things I do dislike however is that every time you go in "Change Preference" and make a change you go back to the main menu and you have to navigate your way to the menus again, besides that its great. It's so small and compact I even take it with me for small bikerides and short walk while I took my vacation. For all first GPS users this Unit is a MUST it has the features you need and nothing you HAVE to have it truly is a great GPS starter. The best thing I love about the GPS is that it has a big suction cup to it so you don't have to leave a mount or anything to your dashboard saying "OH hey I have a GPS break into my car" truly is great, just place it on the window under the rear view mirror and out of your view and bam its great really it is BUY IT! I am so glad that I found Amazon.com. When purchasing my Tom Tom GPS system, I was leary about purchasing anything over the internet. I am not a big computer whiz and thought that I would be scammed for sure. The prices are unbeatable. I have been hearing from everyone how expensive these GPS systems are and thought there was no way I would get a Tom Tom for the price that I did, but everything was on the up and up, I received my Tom Tom in the time Amazon.com said I would and now I am enjoying my product. Never again will I have to print out directions to go somewhere. All I have to do is enter it in my Tom Tom from anywhere in the world and BOOM, it shows me how to get there. Also, if I want to know of a good place to eat (whereever I am), it tells me that too. Pretty much, anything you want to know, it tells you. A great product that I am sure glad I purchased, and at a great price too. I had my cake and am eating it too. HA!
