The alarm clock is very readable in day light and night. You can select colors for the LCD, which is like 40 different colors or just have it on auto color change mode and it cycles through all of them. This clock is nice and is not to big or small. It offers so much and it don't have that annoying alarm clock sound like most alarm clocks have when they go off. It has a nice buzzing sound to it and its very enjoyable when you wake up out of a sleep. I bought one and after my experience with it. I went and bought my father one for a Christmas present.
