After investigating numerous clock radios, I chose this one, and I'm not disappointed. I had a few requirements that eliminated many of the available radios on the market. Because of constant, brief power outages, I not only needed a back-up for the time, but I also wanted to retain my radio presets. This radio does that, and the fact that it's digital, has many alarm features and options, and also looks very good prompted my decision to get it. I originally owned the older version of this alarm clock, but it got fried in a power surge. I looked around for another one and was unable to find one, until this one. I never had a problem with the old one and am even happier with the new one. I was looking to purchase a nature sounds machine and I stumbled across this while looking for it. So now I am back to using an alarm clock that I always liked, with the added plus of the nature sounds. Falling asleep to ocean sounds is exactly what I wanted. This alarm lets you turn it off without forcing you to turn it off then on again. So you know it is set for the next morning. Previously, I had an alarm that had an oddly placed switch. So after turning it off, it would be in an awkward place and it wasn't always on.
And it doesn't create the problem of waking up early on Saturday because you forgot to turn it off, or oversleeping on Monday because you didn't turn it back on.
I don't know why this isn't an option on every alarm clock out there.

This clock radio was everything I had hoped for. It allows the setting for several different alarm options (no more forgetting to turn off the alarm on Friday night and have it accidently go off Saturday morning!) and the radio stations come in crystal clear. The only fault are the 5 "nature sounds," each which have a very short playback loop that is obvious as to when it begins and ends during. This can be somewhat distracting and, thus, I have not used them since the first night. Otherwise, it's a great value!Customer Review: Lots of features for a little clock

The nature sounds are just OK, but the ability to set different alarms for different times is working well for me. I am NOT a morning person, but hated the jarring buzzing alarms and radio alarms were not waking me up. I use a nature sound for the first 10 minutes then the buzzer. I am waking up in a much better mood :) The buzzer is neat because it starts out at 1 buzz and progresses to more and louder buzzes.
