I am very happy with this product, after having used it for over one year. I think it is the best CD/Radio/Environmental Sound clock on the market. All of the controls are digital and it has battery backup. The controls on top are really easy to access at night. Even with your eyes close, you can turn the radio on, change the volume, etc. It has two volume modes (sleep and normal/alarm). The environmental sounds are nice...not exceptional, but good enough for me. It has date and automatic daylight savings ajustments. Plus, you can set the alarm to go off on Monday-Friday, everyday, or only SAT-SUN. Very nice! The CD mechanism is a bit strange...but works fine. The compact size is great, and the LCD is easy to read. If the LCD is too bright at night, simply press a button to dim it...it will automatically re-brighten the next day! Overall, I am very impressed. (I have also tried the similar Sony CD/Alarm clock, and the Timex is much better!)Customer Review: Lots of Good Features with a Small Footprint

I was looking for a small clock radio with digital tuning that would not take up too much space on my nightstand. I'm very happy with this Timex radio.
The feature that I like the most is the 7-5-2 alarm system that lets me wake up to a buzzer during the workweek (the 5) and to the radio on weekends (the 2) without having to change any settings during the week. It's also nice that the station I wake up to can be different from what the radio is tuned to the rest of the time (for example, I can go to sleep to smooth jazz and have the alarm set to wake me up to news).
This radio includes ambient sounds (waves, rain, etc.) --- not a feature that I need or want, but some may like it.
The digital tuning works great and the size is just right. I also like the amber backlight and the ability to dim it.
All and all I am very pleased with this radio and would recommend it to others.

I spent five or six hours scouring Amazon and other sites for a good clock radio that would meet my 3 most important requirements: Digital radio tuning with presets, battery backup (for when the electricity goes out), and a dimmamble display. All three were completely met by this radio.
-The radio works great and picks up all the stations I can pick up in my car.
-The battery backup works as advertised.
-The display has multiple dim settings, and no matter how light sensitive you are, the dimmest setting will work! Take my word for it.
And for the price, the speakers are great for a radio. However, do not buy this for the "nature sounds." Their sounds are not clear and are actually more annoying rather than soothing.

It's a great alarm clock with radio. I dont think my alarm clock has "nature sounds" but it does have different types of alarms for my use. There is the alarm portion that let's me set it to a specific radio station and on different days (daily, M-F, weekends) and there is the graduating BEEPing alarm sound alarm that I set as a backup (just in case I sleep through the radio), again it comes with customizable days for the alarm. Another great feature is the sleep feature that allows you to listen to the radio at a different volume than the volume set for the alarm. I can wake up to a louder volume and fall asleep to a much softer volume. The clock is easy to read but the display is not big enough to be the primary clock for a room.Customer Review: Best Clock Radio Ever

We bought our first Timex T309T in 2003 and were impressed by it's compact design, robust functionality and great sound. You can wake to radio, nature sounds or buzzer - and you can set each for a different time period such as M-F or weekends or every day. There's also a nice snooze feature and variable dimmer on the large display.
When our first T309T was impacted by a power surge we could find nothing nearly as nice in any of the stores as a replacement. Thankfully there were a few of these left on Amazon so we're back to enjoying waking up again. Hopefully Timex will realize that this model is a winner and continue production.
