You gotta have at least one corded phone in your home in case the power goes for an extended period of time so it might as well be this phone. For such a cheapie, it is awesome. Superior call quality through both the headset and the speakerphone. Call waiting/caller ID, nice contrast adjustable backlight display and big buttons for us over 50 types who can dial without our glasses!! You can scroll through the caller ID log either way chronologically and it has three one button speed dials. And remember that the redial button brings up the whole previous string of numbers entered so be careful about retrieving remotely from this or any other phone.Customer Review: Good phone at a good price.

I just bought this phone to keep in the house in case of a power outage.
However, I plugged it in and decided to leave it as bedroom phone and I'm very pleased with it. The feature that made me decide to buy this particular phone is that you can actually turn the ringer OFF. Most land-line phones allow you to lower the ring but not actually turn it off. This makes a great bedroom phone for that reason. It's there if you need it but the phone won't wake you with an unwanted call when the ringer is in the off position. Good price for a well-made phone that has caller ID as well.

We ordered the GE "Big Button" Speaker Phone and it has made life easier for my husband. He is blind in one eye and this phone makes it childs-play for him to dial out to anyone he wants to speak with. He can converse without holding the earpiece to his ears, and his hands are free to take notes when necessary. He no longer grumbles/growls about having to dial a phone that he can barely see the numbers. It is now peaceful in our home when he has to use the phone. It's amazing the difference phone-calling has made in our home due to this Big Button Phone!Customer Review: Perfect Desk Phone

This one has everything. Super large LIGHTED caller ID, volume control for handset, power adapter for the caller id, many many extras. Im usually sucked in by the 10.00 phones and they always end up in the garbage. I thought I would try this one. I almost didnt because of the 29.00 price but it is well worth it. This is not a cheap phone. Its even angled perfect for the desk. The speakerphone sounds great as well. I love it and will probably buy another for the other desk in the house.Customer Review: Receiver doesn't fit securely into base (FIXED)

I love this phone,but am going to have to replace it because of the oft-mentioned problem with the receiver not fitting securely into the base. This renders all three phones in our home dead, unbeknownst to us, until we go to make a call.
UPDATE: The problem with this phone turned out to be a plastic protuberance on the cradle where the earpiece of the receiver rests.
We removed it and are having no more problems with this phone
