For some reason Amazon/The Mem-store would not ship directly to me here in Vancouver Canada, but my package did arrive promptly to my US delivery address.
I just picked up my order this week, and the Power 2000 batteries worked fine straight out of the packaging and into my Panasonic ZS7 camera (I was not able to confirm the firmware version - but I purchased this camera in June 2010, if that serves as any useful indicator). There were no coding issues, or error messages. I will be testing the performance of these new batteries over the next couple of weeks. Everything looks good so far.
The Mem-store charger seems to be compatible with my original Panasonic battery - I have not tried it with the new (pre-charged) Power 2000 batteries yet. The cradle is set up a little differently than the oem Panasonic charger. I suppose, as others have commented, that it may be easier for the battery to become dislodged from the Mem-store charger - but I do not anticipate this to be an issue whatsoever. If you are using this unit as a hockey puck, yeah, sure the batteries are going to fall out. But plugged into the wall, no problem.
I am not sure if this is the same Mem-store charger as was reviewed in earlier postings, as others commented about the charger being very generic. The contacts are simplified in this version of the charger, which states that it is intended "for Panasonic batteries". So there is no fumbling around to ensure you have plugged the battery properly into the right charging contacts.
The Mem-store charger itself is slightly bulkier than the oem one, but still is quite compact - and, like the oem charger, the prongs fold into the unit when not in use. I also like that it came with a car charging cable, and a European adapter plug - both features I will make full use of.
OEM Panasonic batteries retail for $70 here in Canada, and I've seen similar chargers in the stores selling for $30. So at $28.75, the Memstore package, which includes two (higher capacity) batteries plus the charger, is a bargain. I will order from Amazon / The Memstore again!
