Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Thermaltake W0070RUC TR2 Series 430W Power Supply with 2 Fans

Customer Review: Super Power Supply
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this power supply after my video card died due to excessive heat in the case. My original 300W unit was being overtaxed, and I should have realized that something was wrong because whenever I placed my hand on the front panel of the PC where the hard drives were installed, it was HOT! The Thermaltake not only offered greater electrical capacity, but also possessed an additional fan to cool the interior. Now, when I touch the front panel, it always feels like room temperature. I've had the new power supply since July, and it has worked flawlessly since installation. The two fans are amazingly quiet. Installation was a snap, with more than enough connectors to support any configuration. For the price, I don't think I could have done better.

Customer Review: A good Supply
Summary: 5 Stars

I have a Dell E-510 which had the "Blinking yellow light/won't turn on" problem which seems to be common. This power supply corrected the problem. It was easy to install. The screws that hold it to the back fit perfectly and seem strong enough to hold it without using the internal brackets which didn't fit. The on/off switch bumped the mounting bracket and I had to make a small cut-out to make it fit and this was easy to do. (The original supply didn't have an external switch). It had lots of connectors I didn't need, but everything was easy to identify and the (long) cables and extra connectors tucked up inside the computer easily enough without blocking the air flow. It is quieter than the original and seems to run very cool.

Customer Review: Thermaltake 430W used in Dell Dimension 8200
Summary: 5 Stars

There is so much controversy regarding Dell power supplies, I thought I would review this item. I have installed this item in a Dell Dimension 8200. This computer is a 1.8 Ghz Pentium 4. It previously had a Dell 250 W power supply. This new power supply is working flawlessly! I changed out the smaller P.S., because I am upgrading to a XFX6600Gt graphics card, which requires 300 W minimum. I did have some concerns, after the erronous cautions from Dell support (India). But all is well. I notice that the dual fan configuration is very quiet.

Also, only one caveat. You will need a nibbling tool to remove some rear case sheet metal, so you can clear the rocker switch on this P.S. Not a big problem once you see how it performs.

Customer Review: Runs smoothly and quietly.
Summary: 5 Stars

When I first installed it into my computer, it wouldn't run at all. I thought it was broken, but apparently my old motherboard was fried (which may have been why the old power supply wasn't working, now that I think about it...) Once I replaced the MB (and got a nice CPU and memory upgrade :) it worked beautifully. Word to the wise--for (possibly) safety reasons it will not work just by plugging into alone into a wall outlet, it must be connected to a working motherboard for it to turn on.

It has a quite liberal amount of 5V (and other types of) connectors--far more than I needed. The materials are also pretty sturdy/well-built workmanship.

Customer Review: Great product
Summary: 5 Stars

We purchased a dell gaming computer for my wife last year. Since then we've had all sorts of issues, motherboard gone out, video card and 2 power supplies. Now its out of warranty and the 3rd power supply just died. I did some research and found this nifty replacement PS cheap. When it arrived it fitted perfectly into the dell like it was OEM. I did find that the original PS from dell was 250w!! The GPU itself pulls almost that much no wonder stuff was failing. This puts out about 410w which is very good for a 430w rated PS. Very quiet and 2 fans move much more air through it. No problems since.
