I bought this little fan to cool an HD-DVR and Amplifier, both of which get very warm when in operation. My cabinet has glass doors which I had to open when in use so as not to overheat the equipment. I cut a small square opening in the back of my entertainment cabinet just large enough to wedge this little unit in. I cut a few other ventilation slots along the bottom of the rear cabinet and connected the USB cord to an open slot on the DVR. The fan has an adjustment for how fast the blades circulate air. Even at half speed, the unit kept both devices cool with the doors closed. Its a pretty quite fan, but at full crank is fairly noticeable which is why I keep it running at half speed.Customer Review: Nifty mobile fan

I like this thing. It arrived early. I bought it to cool down the corner of the room where my pc is, however I took it to work and now I don't want to bring it home because it looks cool on my desk and I love the breeze it creates.
I need to buy another one because I also have a dish reciever that gets very hot. It causes problems with the WII that sits on it, in the same cabinet.
The fan comes with a ratcheting usb connector; so there is a button you press to retract the cable into a neat enclosure. The knob on the upper left is a speed adjustment dial. Looks like you could replace the fan with any case fan if you needed to. It's simple and cool.

This fan is very nice, quiet and just what i need. I recently moved to a new office with no thermostat in my area and its about 10 degrees warmer than my old office. The stagnant air doesn't help and I cant work with a noisy fan at my desk. On low you can barley hear the fan even on high its a soft whirr at most. Doesn't disturb the other employees in my command center. I will agree with others it would be nice to have an off setting since my PC/laptop and docking station stay powered 24/7 most of the time but I can always unplug the usb cord if needed. Seller stated item would ship in 2-3 business days, i paid standard shipping and it was at my door in 3 business days.Customer Review: Does The Job

I have an external hard drive that is "air-cooled" but it is in a location where air circulation is somewhat blocked. This little fan takes care of that problem and keeps it running cool. I had tried battery-powered fans, but the batteries would die too quickly. If I'm not using the external HD, I just reposition the fan to provide extra circulation for the tower.
This fan is extremely quiet and works unobtrusively. I don't even hear it running. Since I normally shut off my computer when I'm done, I'm not really bothered by the lack of an on-off switch.
This fan is a great solution to one of life's annoying little problems. :-)

I original bought one of these to cool down my Xbox 360 because of all the after market coolers either did not do a good job or could destroy your console. This was the perfect solution. It moves a LOT of air and does not void any warranty on your consoles. It keeps my Xbox 360 cool to the touch. I use it in the back of the console blowing away from the console. (assisting the internal fans)
I recently bought another 2 of these one for my PS3 and Laptop. For the PS3 I keep it along the side of the console blowing away from the console also and slightly towards the back.
I highly recommend these fans for both next gen consoles!
