Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Thermaltake Mobile Fan II External USB Cooling Fan - UsCustomer Review: THE BEST SOLUTION. Summary: 5 Stars
If you got laptop and it needs to be cooled check this out.
First, don't use the laptop cooler with fans already attach to it.
All of these laptop coolers will suck the air and let it out toward back
and some laptop are not design to let out hot airs to buttom.
And those things are simply too loud !
so this is what you do
You put the laptop on Targus notebook stand, and hook this fan up
next to the laptop and it will blow the air top of the keyboard as well
as the buttom of the laptop while it keeps your hands cool and dry.
I have sweaty hands and it keeps my hands dry too !
this thing is also quiet !
I've used other combinations to try to cool my notebook including
those little cute usb fan things.. and it just does not work
Customer Review: Drops A/V cabinet temps by 20º Summary: 5 Stars
I have an enclosed a/v cabinet and was concerned about internal temps when running a PS3, receiver and other components. I put my outdoor remote temp sensor in the cabinet and routinely saw 110ºF+ temps, so I purchased this and plugged it in to the PS3 USB port and saw a reduction of ~20º. The fan is quiet enough to not be noticed over the sound of other component fans running and the sound is a non-issue when anything is playing. You can plug it in to anything with a USB port but since my PS3 seems to be the big heat generator, I chose to plug it in there. It works very well and is a much cheaper and simpler solution than hard mounting a 120mm exhaust fan and wiring in a thermometer. I'm going to buy another one so I can put a laptop in the cab as well. I recommend 100%.
Customer Review: Great USB fan!! with tons of air flooding around! Summary: 5 Stars
this fan is great! i just got it today an hour ago and now testing it on my desktop. (I'm using it for my desktop, you can using it on laptop or any USB plug devices)
the reason i use it for my desktop is because this fan is strong and suck or blow a lot of air. and EASY to clean! cleaning is important to me, if you have a good fan that can accumulate dust and hard to clean that it pretty much is useless! That USB cable can be extended, how long? well never tested yet! but so far i can move around on my desktop and point any direction you want. so basically long enough.
Oh one more thing, the fan speed can be adjust from super low to super strong.
over all, easy to clean and strong fan!!
(work as a little summer fan too) :P
Customer Review: Very useful Summary: 5 Stars
I was going to build something like this before it occurred to me to look for it here. It's just what it looks like: A standard case fan with a rheostat knob, a usb power adapter, and a bit of wire for a stand. The fan is very quiet, almost silent at a moderate speed while still moving a nice amount of air. Overall it's well-made, not cheap or cheesy. The retractable USB cable is a nice bonus.
I use it next to a Macbook Pro. I turn it on when I'm doing resource-intensive things like video rendering, and it can make a 5-10 degree (C) difference in the measured temps of the laptop.
And here's a bonus use: When hanging up my camelbak bladder for drying, I set this fan right in front of the filler opening, and it dries really fast! :)
Customer Review: Clips nicely to the top of my Mac Pro Summary: 5 Stars
I couldn't have purchased a better fan to keep my Mac Pro nice and cool in the desk cabinet. I have the Mac Pro and a Western Digital External Hard Drive in the desk cabinet but I removed the back of the cabinet for ventilation and I usually leave the cabinet door open as well.
This little fan clips right to the top handle of my Mac Pro Quad, like it was made for it! So I don't have to worry about it falling off when I have to pull the tower out. Although, I still leave the desk door open, it's nice and cool in there and I no longer worry about the heat damaging circuits.
I'm just so happy that I picked the right fan.
