I have used NeatReceipts from the beginning and have continually upgraded the program and scanners as they have been released. This program has saved hours of filing, searching and recording misc receipts. I have used this program for full size invoices to Home Depot receipts. My office has gone from piles of paper and files to recycled paper. I have printed out copies and had the stores accept them for returns and exchanges. GREAT TIME SAVING PROGRAM !!! I travel every week, and let me say not only is this a blessing, it is one of the coolest toys I've played with lately. I'll be damned if it doesn't live up to it's name. I still can't figure out how it "reads" the receipts but I would say it's about 90% there. Yes it have trouble with handwritten or receipts with "tips" added, but it's a small thing. Our person who handles all the expense reports loves the PDF I send her with everything reported on it. In all.... totally satisfied (If you use Vista - download the beta software - the one that comes with it doesn't work) Easy to use, great for the road, makes life a heck of a lot easier..

I bought this since I am constant travelling around, and had to get a grip on my expense reporting. Scanalizer made it very easy for me to document and summarize all the receipts easily. Most of the receipts scanned really well -- say, about 70% to 80%. Some of them needed help in updating the amounts, payee, date, etc., but were quite easy to change, particularly with my accounting background.
The software saves summarized data in a variety of formats -- excel, pdf, text etc. Excel upload was quite good and was useful for me to summarize them by weeks.
Overall, I like this product.

I use my scanner to read every receipt I get, regardless of the size of the receipt. I find it amazing how it can find the total amount, the tax and recognize the issuing business. Of course the first time you scan a receipt from a unique store, you have to enter the name, but after that it recognizes the receipt as being from the proper business.
We will be RVing for about 6 months, so the size of the scanner was a big selling point. It is not very fast, but it is very accurate. So far it has done everything it is advertised to do and I love it.

I bought this after spending way too much time organizing receipts as I prepared my tax return this year. Now, I keep very few paper receipts and simply scan the ones I want to keep and my office is tidier, my receipts are easier to find, and i don't waste two hours each month filing and working with receipts. ditto for my work receipts. Also running all my business cards through this and it is a huge time saver and integrates right into outlook. seriously, this solution is a godsend and i highly recommend it to anyone that is drowning in paper-based receipts.
