Customer Review: The TI-89 Titanium Revolution
Summary: 5 Stars

The TI-89 Titanium is quite possibly the most efficient and versatile calculator ever made by TI. Loaded with a 12mhz processor, 2.5mb of memory, and an amazing 600kb+ of RAM, no other calculator can compare to it with a frame of its weight.

Oh...but the TI-84+ SE has a faster processor. Right?

Well, the TI-84+ SE DOES have a processor with a higher frequence...but, as it turns out, substance is valued over style.
In truth, the TI-84+ SE has a slower processor-while the frequence is slightly higher, the rate of display and access to the memory is much slower.

Of course, being the intelligent customer that you are, you already know that the TI-89 Titanium has a lot more advantages than other calculators...lighter frame (varies), lots of memory, 3D graphing, 16 preloaded apps (helps a hell of a lot), and...it can be used on the SAT.

What more can I say? If you want me to sum up my rant, then: the TI-89 Titanium is the best portable calculator out there. Take a look at the screenshots for some of the games on ticalc.org-are you convinced now?

Customer Review: Get this calculator
Summary: 5 Stars

The model I have was built in 1999. It is by far the best quality I've ever seen in an electronic device. I have used the keypad heavily for many years and there is not a single piece of lettering that has rubbed or scratched off. It performs well at all temperatures, depending on the quality of batteries. I've had if for 8 years never had a problem, will solve just about anything solvable, other than some stuff that can only be solved with computer programs like Maple.

Get this if your thinking about getting an 83!

It's much nicer to have equations that you can just scroll, select and renter certain variables out of long equations. Plus it can solve most complex equations, Integrate, Taylor Series ect. The maximum matrix size is 6x6, anything larger and I don't think you'd want a calculator.
I've programed many programs, it works really well. Although, if your going to do some serious programming step up to the 92. Some of the HP's are impressive too, but the 89 has been time tested and works.

Customer Review: Great calculator, with flaws
Summary: 5 Stars

Don't worry, it isn't going to make your head explode or anything, but anyway, I am in double-advanced math (i'm a seventh grader who's in algebra 1) and I decided that, what the heck, I want a graphing calculator (there is a very long story involved in this, very long indeed....) and I was originally going to get a TI-84 plus SE. After informing my algebra teacher of this, he told me to get a TI-89, because it would take me much farther than the 84. Well, after shopping around I found one at a resonable price. After recieving it in the mail, I started toying around with it. I found it much, much more usefull than the 83's my school has, but there are a few bizare problems. First off, for some reason, It won't graph inequalities (it should be able too, but it won't for some reason) it also requires the use of the numeric solver for basic math. other than that, this calculator is great, and is the perfect tool for anyone in math. (just don't graph random things during algebra, i can no longer bring it to school >_<)

Customer Review: A great price for an over the top graphing calculator
Summary: 5 Stars

I wanted a calculator that could help me in my math pre-reqs and not break the bank. Campus bookstore was asking 249.00 for a used ti-89. The Target Store was asking 149.00 for new. My gently used, with new batteries, was around 80.00.

The Ti-89 is way overpowered for a simple class like Probability and Statistics or College Algebra. The Windows like interface makes it so easy to use. The other people in class will be waiting for their calculators to show the answer, while you are 2 problems ahead.

This Ti-89 did not come with a book or cables, but a trip to Best Buy and a local printing shop cost me 15.00 total to fix that.

You have to spend some time in general figuring how to set your parameters and understanding how it functions. After that, you're going to be very happy. In my experience you can count on figuring this out yourself, as my professors use the Ti-84 series for classwork and did not have a good grasp on the more advanced Ti-89.

Customer Review: The only calculator you'll ever need in your life
Summary: 5 Stars

I was debating whether to get a Ti-84 Plus or the Ti-89 Titanium. Most of you are probably in the same situation. Of course, with the Ti-89 Titanium is it more money, but the extra features include a bigger resolution, more RAM and ROM, and much more. I decided to get the Ti-89 Titanium -- and I don't regret it at all.

This is a power house. Plug in any calculus question, it will give you the answer. It will also show you steps on how to solve it. This is great for AP Calculus. Not only is it allowed, but gives an advantage over other calculators. It's worth the extra $20 to buy this. If you're into engineering or math, it is a must.

Cons that people see:
- The low contrast screen: I'll admit from comparing the other calculators, it is lower. However the difference is very little. It never bothered me at all.
- The colours on the keys: You can see them fine. I never had a problem with them.

You won't regret buying this.
