I read the reviews in this page about the cable and how it worked with the TI-86 and I was encouraged to buy it. The TI Connect software quickly recognized my calculator but some features are not available since the TI-86 is not fully supported. I am able to use the TI Device Explorer to see what programs and things I installed in my calculator. When I want to install a new program, I just drag the file into the TI Device Explorer. You can download programs from [...]but some may freeze your calculator.
The TI Screen Capture works fine, and so does most of the other programs but the TI-86 does not support the Study Cards Creator.

I purchased the graphlink USB to replace my old serial graphlink. It works with TI connect software on XP32 bit and Vista 32 bit. It would not work on XP 64 bit. The serial graphlink would not work with TI connect software on my old TI89. The new TI89 has a built in USB port so only people like me with old calculators can use it. It does work excellent!
