As other reviews say, this bag is great because it is compact but very functional. Some of the more stylin' bags don't have a functional side pocket for your power adapter, mouse, thumb drive, framed picture of your momma and a little snack for afternoon break.
Pros:
- Good simple efficient design.
- Substantial padding and good quality zippers.
- Well made bag ... should be durable over time (Targus has a great rep for this).
- Very functional side pocket.
Cons:
- The vinyl panel on the pocket is kinda ugly. Bright side: It looks cheap so nobody will steal your bag/PC!
- Poorly designed security strap for the PC requires more effort than is necessary to secure.
- The "padded removable shoulder strap" isn't. It is a simple mesh strap with really cheap clips. The bag is light enough that, even fully loaded, a padded strap probably isn't necessary, but the strap provide is pure garbage.
Question for other owners (click the "comment" link below if you have the answer):
What the heck is that mesh pocket inside the main compartment for? Seems unnecessary while the bag is closed and if used to secure the PC while using it inside the bag it would be worthless because without the strap (which would go across the keyboard) the pocket won't hold the PC in place. Ideas anybody???
Final assessment ... Good bag, highly recommended.

Bought this to carry an ASUS Eee PC 1000HE 10.1-Inch Blue Netbook - 9.5 Hour Battery Life. It has worked well. It is a good size & well padded. The netbook get strapped in securely. The bag also comes with a detachable shoulder strap.
Although it packs snugly and must be done with care, it has lots of room and enough pockets to carry many additional items like: a Samsung USB 2.0 8x DVD Writer External Optical Drive for Mac and PC SE-S084C/RSBN (Gloss Black), a Microsoft Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse 3000 - Slate, and a Western Digital My Passport Essential 250 GB USB 2.0 Portable Hard Drive WDME2500TN (Midnight Black), plus the power cord & charger as well.
There's still some room left for little things like disks too!

I got this for my Asus 10.1 inch netbook. I have to admit that I'm a complete geek for this format. I have outfitted my netbook with a slew of equipment to create the full nano-workstation lab. There are literally hundreds of netbook computer sized bags but most of them are basically the same except for cosmetics. This is the only bag I've found to carry computer plus its natural electronic companions.
I carry an external DVD drive, an external 500Gb hard drive, a USB sound card, Bluetooth headset, my iTouch, powered speaker panel, Sony Xacti video cam, several USB flash drives and sdhc chips, cables and AC adapters as needed....
It required a little internal modification of the pockets and a practiced packing routine to get everything in... A tight fit but I feel that if the whole package fell off a desk that everything would be fine.
Only problem is if I get a micro-LCD projector I'm going to have to leave something out :-(

Going small doesn't mean that you have to compromise on quality or functionality. My ASUS 1005HA (inside its stock zippered sleeve case) fits perfectly inside this Targus case.
I have to characterize myself as a nit-picker when I shop for canvas bags and cases for my electronic do-dads. I'm very critical about buttons, snaps, zippers, velcro and stitching. When I shop, if ANY single one of those physical components show any quality issues, I'm not buying it!
Happily, this case has excellent overall dimensions, great construction and handy pockets. I've got just enough additional room for the case's strap, a Logitech wireless mouse, power adapter, SDHC memory cards, a notepad, ear-bud earphones...and there is still some room for a short length of LAN cable. OK, so yes, it did take too much time to jam all that in safely, but it CAN be done.
I like this case, and Amazon's price was hard to beat!

Seems to be well made, fits my MSI netbook exactly, easy to get it and the accessories in and out, nice looking.
Random wishes to make it even better:
I wish the shoulder strap was a little heftier and that it had a pocket for papers on the back. It also wouldn't hurt my feelings if the pocket on the front were a little larger so that I didn't have to choose whether to carry (in addition to a mouse Logitech Optical Notebook Mouse Plus (USB)) the netbook's power cable and a small surge protector or the dvd burner and its cables. Actually, I could probably squish it all in there if I really tried, but it would be a tight fit.
